Explosion? No. Implosion? Possibly. The holes are sucking things in, suggesting that the pressure inside the earth is less than that outside. Hence, covering the holes would just make the sucking effect more powerful for those remaining, and/or create more holes. An explosion of some sort would occur if the holes were spewing outward, not sucking inward.
1. Get lots of horizontal speed by jumping out at angles 2. Land perfectly in the water.3. Repeat step 1 & 2 until you get high enough to start slide on the ones above the moon.4. Make sure you keep the down arrow held down and try to catch a star. As soon as you do, jump off immediately by hitting up.5. Repeat step 4 until you can't any longer and need to fall back to Earth.
I noticed that you can hit the left key and the down key at the same time when the up key is already pressed, while you can do so with the right and down key.
You're sitting on a golden game idea right now, add some more levels and maybe some more content and this game will be #1 in no time.

Gattling Guns were invented right around the time of the Civil War. There were Indian conflicts before then, but this game clearly takes place in the west and would be after the civil war.
