Combinations are somewhat arbitrary (water + air = steam, not water + fire? Snake + fire = ash?? ), and the entire game is finding these combinations... so the experience is a lot like playing the permutations game until you get to 115. 2/5.
Nice music. Game is too simple - only a couple puzzles require any thought. Also, terrible bugs - pressing spacebar was starting time travel for me, sometime the ball would pause a couple seconds after starting for no reason... could be because I was fiddling with the option to automatically pause when moving wormholes.
Kongregate wants to make money. We want Kongragate to continue to be free. If they made some sort of deal with Ubisoft, I am all for it, and will happily play their game/advertising in order to support Kongregate. Better this than a worse site.... quit complaining about things you're getting for free.
Game designers need to eat too. There's nothing forcing you to buy anything - I'm enjoying the game without purchasing powerups - but if you'd like to support the designer, and want something more than a nice warm fuzzy feeling, you can buy a premium track or a dreadnaught.
Worth getting 100% on. Shame it isn't longer - feels like you could put more story in and get more mileage out of it, even if you didn't want to add items/areas. Those who liked this should play Cave Story http://www.miraigamer.net/cavestory/downloads_1.php
The game was pretty blah - the act of solving is very similar to mazes - guess and check with a bit of deduction as to what has to be a dead end. Most of the later levels basically tell you what you need to do in the title, which is better than the alternative of them being irritating, but not by much.
I did love the comments in the background, but I would much rather just read them than play the game.
Please fade to black at the end, after The End. Although I'm not sure you can expect people to watch the credits on a flash game that short, that last comment may be better placed elsewhere.
Good game, nice style and music, no longer than it needed to be. I hope you finish it.
Seems to lack depth. Perhaps add difficulty so you don't turn people away too soon... but 6 battles in, 5 of which fought exactly the same, isn't interesting. (and the 6th was my first fight, in which I couldn't figure out the controls quick enough to stop my hero from dying.
Also, annoying that I can't have new units automatically join the fray, and that I can't select everything except the hero.
Bug: room with 2 elevators and wolf facing right after girl. As I was riding down the 2nd elevator with girl after killing wolf, I down+jumped off elevator and onto next screen - except girl started crying, next screen didn't load, and I wasn't on screen any more.
Anyway, the wolf maiming sequences are too long/annoying to repeat playing - Why not give the user a way to skip those if they don't want to spend 15 seconds hitting space bar every time they kill a wolf..
Very nice graphics, but...
Music is on a very short loop/ is very repetitive... in a game where you're basically staring at the screein, looking and listening, for a while, it gets old quick.
And while I don't mind if you arbitrarily decide some things aren't differences for ascetically reasons, I do mind you docking me points for clicking on them. This is a spot the differences game, and you're penalizing me for clicking on differences....
These two issues make the game unplayable for me, even though it is a Very visually appealing game, and I want to play it - 2/5 :(
Kinda slow/boring.. I fell asleep playing it.
And you need to see some numbers to make your decisions (what few you have), which aren't on the top level screen.. annoying
I particularly love the feature that if the game loses focus it auto-pauses. Nice touch on a nice game - perfectly sets out what it tries to accomplish (in music, controls, story) - my only regret is that it doesn't try to do more :)
Cool concept, implementation is lacking (even on lowest setting, very slow - and having jumping puzzles with performance issues is not fun. Also, what's with the puzzles that make you make a 50/50 choice with no information, and forced to redo if wrong?? That's not a puzzle! Neither is "Put light in receptical, follow platform of light"). Too painful to finish as is, I hope you figure out something for performance
Main issue is the massive performance hit/lag caused by enemy spawns... it was fun, until it gets to the point where the constant enemy spawning makes it unplayable. Can you pre-load those guys and then just make them visible? (perhaps don't remove them on them dying, but instead make them invis again and put them in a queue of guys to be reused?)
Seriously, the gameplay was ok, dragged on a bit (normal mode was too easy.. no tension once your city is running), but the song at the end made finishing the game worthwhile.
