One idea is to curve the card drop chance if you keep not getting a card, or if you get lots of cards. For instance, if someone has 100 wins but only one card drop, their chance increases in proportion to how many they "should," have at that point.
Oragami Crane doesn't work like it says it does. If you are debuffed, you can still miss (and debuff hit% strategies REALLY need something that works against them).
Great business plan:
Offer 3 starter cards
Players get 1 card per Kongregate Level (perhaps chosen from a set of 3 random cards each time).
Players get cards randomly in battle, the chance is
effected by their Skill Level.
Consider stopping the Card challenges, and stick to Badge challenges, to prevent too many cards from being distributed.
Getting cards on both win and loose would prevent people (like me) from not fighting hard folks, and picking on newer players. Honestly, I'd enjoy the challenge of going after a veteran, but I'm really punished for it.
I feel like there should be some warning when you choose your three cards... like "Cards are so rare, you will get less than one every five hours of straight playing. Do not mess this up."
I only started playing after the frequency was upped, and I didn't get any cards until my 25th win, and then on got one on my 26th, oddly... But that was very frustrating, perhaps an upping chance as you go algorithm is in order or something...
I personally think the real "epic" part of this game should be in the ranking and playing. There's no need to drag out the card collecting into infinity like it is... honestly I think if someone's won 200 matches... they should have all the cards by now. Upping the percentage to 25%-100% wouldn't be too much. (though, I understand you've gotta keep people playing the other games). Another option would be to take away the limitedness of the card challenges... or something....
I wish there was some way to repick your starter cards. I'm finding myself loosing over and over, and not being able to improve my deck. Alternately, winning cards when you loose sometimes could help (O:
Wow! Good game, better voice acting than in most Playstation games. Also, has amazing music. It's immediately apparent, but right now I'm listening on good headphones, and there's some really good orchestration going on here.
This is a great game. It could use some kind of visual indication of how strong my troops are, though. It's a bit annoying clicking all over to figure out how much gold they need to upgrade. Another option, is one halo for ready to level, and another for ready to level and you can afford it (O:
