It's an incredibly easy, poor-quality rehash of Hands of War with a few more glitches, a fraction of the content, and nothing new to bring to the table.
Bugs:
- On occasion, the auto-attack ability gets stuck on after a battle, repeatedly causing the "Requires a target" warning.
- In the battle for the second town, the enemies can walk halfway through some of the walls to reach you.
Complaints:
- Experience gained is just the level of the enemy. So, stomping 2 level 10 enemies that can barely touch you is same as taking on a level 20 enemy that can actually hurt--this system scales very poorly.
- No way to keep track of quests--if you take a break from the game it becomes difficult to figure out where you left off.
- Towns and people are all nameless--no role-playing in this RPG?
Skip this game. Axis proved what it was capable of in Hands of War, and this game is a cheap knockoff in comparison. They can do better, and you can find better.
It is truly a disappointment to me that this game is classified as "puzzle". Much worse than its predecessor, Pyro II falls into the trap of poor level design, where solving each stage is not a matter of thinking about trajectories or anything like, but rather guessing a shot and hoping. The tiniest movements of the mouse can cause bounces to occur so differently, a good handful of the levels are reduced to repetitive, uninteresting trial-and-error for finding the right shot. A good basic game, if only the levels were more thoughtfully designed. A shame. Not worth the time.
