For those who do not know: It is the greek myth of Orpheus (did I spell that right?) in the underworld. In a nutshell, heres the story: A great bard Orpheus lost his wife to a poisonous snake. He loved her so much, that he went to the underworld to speak with Hades. Along the way, he sung a song of such great sorrow that even some of the spirits wept. Hades agreed to let his wife return to the land of the living on one condition: That Orpheus could not look back to make sure his wife was still there. He climbed the steps from the underworld to the land of the living, and when he was almost there, he looked back, and the wife's spirit dispersed. THE END.
Sorry for the quadruple post, the 1000 character limit is evil. One more thing on Last Hope: I made it as an experiment for transitions and "Epic" songs, I didn't expect it to turn out good.
Here's an explanation for my song: In the chorus of Last Hope, I made "Meta-chords" with power chords. They usually are incomplete chords, seeing as there are only 2 instruments that can be leads, and 3 that can be bass. I used the first guitar for the lead riff, and bass and guitar 2 for the chords. The chorus features a Power->Power->Power->Major pattern, which creates a feeling that I describe as "Epic," a feeling that you can do anything, that an epic course of action must be taken. The first transition from bridge to chorus features an "Ugly chord" which sound terrible if one was to make an entire song with it. However, these chords, with the right usage, can make a deeper feeling in music, and it is an improvement to sprinkle them in for transitions to make a sharp transition.
