Playing the human race this time, and their siege unit is incredibly stupid. The trebuchet, which historically has insane rock throwing range, in this game may go RIGHT UP TO THE CASTLE WALL (I mean literally, it's covered by the ladder), before it fires. X_X 0 range siege unit?
so, after grinding through hellish wall jumps like in lvl 15, i finally beat this game. woot. overlord got easier and easier since the new abilities mean no more need to time things precisely, just stay stealthed until it shows up, place ice, restealth, burn, restealth, repeat. dont even need to move or jump
trick is to just get office cubicles and media execs, then u can keep your heat down to 0, and the only enemies u ever face are harmless tourists. Then you can take your time doing whatever u want.
urgh, its worse than i thought, its exactly as adsadafafas put it. Unlocking the black cat has caused all my levels to freeze when i reach the green door.
I was wondering why everyone was saying the difficulty curve sucked.. and then i unlocked wizards bow and tried it out... complete. ownage. suddenly all the difficult maps became cake with the 8x gold drop for the first few sets of rounds (after that its useless because you'll already have toooooo much gold even if u fill up the map with troops u'll have leftovers) and 2x soul drop for every round..
awesome concept for a game, and lots of potential for improvements, more tower types, more weapon ammo types, more resource types, specialist survivors, etc. And of course.. mutant zombies...
The only bad thing about this game is that theres too much dependence on RNG. It's not impossible. If you're lucky, you can get to day 300+ easy. (And if you're experienced, you'll know when to quit trying when your luck is too bad and start over) My advice is the same as always.. Rogue + Revolver with 4-6 mod slots by day 4-8. If you can't get that, restart the game until you do. Shoot those parachute rats for exp and the rogue will generate enough money to keep going.
nothing wrong with the cash flow, it just takes a bit of knowledge on how to spend it wisely. I tried it like 10 times before I got the right balance, the trick is to upgrade your workshop fast, keeping the range of your defense longer than the range of the enemies. Once you get guns you're set, no need for lasers, mass guns and you can destroy everything. (Problem is at round 20ish, enemy range becomes infinity, they shoot you before they appear, and their bullets 1hit even the strongest wall, so then it really becomes a pain in the ass) Repairing is done fast by spamming R, but rebuilding is horribly slow since the towers wobble and block rebuilds.
I used the same 3 heroes for everything:
Hero 1: Trainee + Archwizard = debuff resists + poison + teleport. (generally good regardless of element, since its mainly supporting) Hero 2: Crossbow + Paladin = slowdown + consecrate (pwns all non-flying since theres no elemental resistance against paladin) Hero 3: Flitwick ranger + archer = Super anti air (pwns all flying, even if you're the wrong element 300%+ anti-air damage bonus ftw)
44, with multiple screw ups.. There's a lot of games like this one, but this is the first time i've seen one where the higher you go, the EASIER it gets. Normally games of this type get more difficult as you go up, with more and more obstacles.. but here because it zooms out more and more the further you go, it gets easier and easier, which is really strange.
Seriously, Stark One, custom Pure slash/agile is the way to go, 2 weapons. Slightly harder at first, but because most of your powers are passive there are less buggy active powers that show up. Don't let the 60 max hp scare you, only had to hire gladiators once for the brothers, everyone else just misses you like crazy while you pwn them fast with high initiative and strike. Only waizer lived for more than 30 seconds, but he still died within a few minutes. Main point is with this spec: No more missing haxes, no more getting stunned before you hit, no more weird bugs showing up.
