Autofire really helps this game! Good to see you embrace user feedback so well. I've not played either of this or the sequel before and may well have to play more of both as a result. I like the music and the game flows really nicely. More upgrades would be nice if players wanted to play a more survival like mode but other than that solid 4/5 platformer.
I watched the series when it first came out on Newgrounds, loved it and am still waiting on the next installment. However, this game's design is just awful. The graphics are nice and the mechanics are intuitive but the way they put blade traps in tricky jump spots is downright obnoxious. Every bit of health counts (on hard this is most prevalent). It's particularly annoying when it can take you 15 mins to do a level just to be killed right before the end. Let alone the fact that combat picks and chooses when you hit something particularly if you walk sideways to your target. Lessons to be learnt for Jazza? Yeah, stick to videos. Everything about this game that made it good; the music, animation and story are video features. It's the playing bit about this game I don't like!
Having just played the last 2 decision games, the tedium has got the better of me. I was on the grind for decision 1 and 2 and got my badge rewards but it'll be a while I feel before I finish this one (I would hastily like to add I actually enjoyed decision medieval). You may ask why the hate? Well the maps are all the same brown/grey landmasses with no real personality and all look the same. The time taken to play these games is really not that long but the way the game is segmented into these small repetitive missions really breaks the flow and momentum of the game and really becomes more tedious than challenging. Oh and the price of upgrades really are a pain considering how little this game wants to reward you for kills or anything for that matter. There is nothing hugely wrong with the function of these games, barring the occasional black screen, but there certainly isn't anything overtly fun/enjoyable about them either. 2/5
Having 11 shiny Kongpanions made this much easier than I imagined! Lots of fun but like every one else says, there really is a lack of closure even with all this completion of in game challenges.
Quick tip for the Mothership on Xtreme (easily the hardest of the bosses!) use your high dps weapon on one side(I used the Gatlin gun for my left 2 slots) of the 4 slot ship for the enemies before the boss. On the other side use a high power weapon(Megaplasma cannon is the one I used for my right 2). When you approach the boss get your high power weapon facing to the boss. So for me I went to the left of centre. Then destroy the left hand cannon and then destroy the mothership by sitting out of range of both the mothership (bar the occasional dodge) and the right turret. Using a low power weapon on the right such as the gatlin gun is not advised as it means you need to hit the boss ALOT more and makes your job 10x harder. The rest of xtreme is just kill everything before it can shoot!
Of all things people are commenting on why hasn't anyone brought up the fact of:
Where have all these boxes come from?
&
What happened to all the roads?
Even with all the money available for research into improving this rocket we really shouldn't invest in a map/radar. Who'd want to know where they're going, this is an adventure!
As it stands I really haven't enjoyed this game. The money count was buggyand the gameplay was very repetitive (even for a top down scroller).q.) Redeeming features? a.)Not many.
The narrative off the scientist monkey didn't really add to the game and just got annoying. Thus leading to either following the plot and getting frustrated or not having any plot. The music is just awful, Kevin MacLeod it and get something funky on here that doesn't make you want to explode with rage. The animation was typical of the Balloon series and as always delivered functional yet enjoyable animation. Possible improvements would include fixing the money system and lowering the price of EVERYTHING. I could reiterate that point enough. I don't pay for flash games but I am happy to donate to developers. However, making the game this difficult and tedious for those that don't want to pay ransom fees is a dick move. I want to like this game but at the moment I just can't. 2/5
So easy yet so rewarding, upgrade your unit cap and just rush one sector of the map...ice bombs will help you take much less damage and the push bombs will ensure your rush units take v little damage...other than that really well thought out game and loved the animation and music. Please make a sequel, oh and I wish it was longer.
ok, when I use any of the power ups ( aka shield, death ray or bullet time) I lose control of death and then don't regain control for a couple of seconds...why is this and how can I fix it? I do have current flash etc
Hey I'm playing on a laptop and when I use the command keys like asd for bullet time etc I lose control of the skull and can't move, how can I solve this issue? This question is of high importance for me as I loved DvsM 1 and I really like this one too. However, this problem will definitely hinder my completion of the game :(
To all that say this is too short, did you notice hard mode? Oh and a note to Lorgh: I at least expected some motivational help for 19/24 on hard, it's a map that has obviously been spawned by satan himself and unleashed upon the world. Oh and anything less than Morgan Freeman giving a speech when you finish hard is acceptable. However though, the music is awesome and I love the levels. 5/5
I'm having some really bad input problems with my mouspad on this, i can shoot no problem but the aiming is lagging really badly, I loved the old game and I'm sure I'll love this one... if I could have some suggestions on how to fix this I'd be able to give a proper review and have some much anticipated fun :)
love the game...5/5 however, it would be quite nice if you could remove the mute/pause icons in the top right or just hide them as it's a pain if for example on the last 2 boss battles you want to fire from the top right otherwise I found the upgrades where well spaced and most importantly it was so much freakin' fun :p
