That was tight. I really enjoyed the panel mechanic and the refreshingly different artistic style. I only wish for another longer than this, and perhaps with a few more branching options instead of a linear story.
Superb. I really don't know what everyone is talking about when they mention walljumping issues - my walljumps are precise and smooth as butter. The slight downtime between landing and rolling can be a bit of a nuisance, as streepe mentioned, and the jetpack is a little tough to master, but everything functions great otherwise. The level designs were excellent, and the difficulty scaling was perfect. It was challenging, even bordering on frustratingly so, but not maddening. Just what I like to see in a game like this. Also, I haven't seen anybody mention the music yet, but I really like it. Fits quite nicely. All in all, a great game in my mind. 5/5
Great game except for the issues I see other people mentioning. First are overpowered ranged attackers. I entered a level with 103 HP and dropped to 56 because I couldn't get to him. Next are traps. They aren't that bad, but the rate of hitting them needs to be reduced (>1 a level starts to feel excessive) and there needs to be a way to avoid hitting them. Maybe a spell that would reveal all on a single level? Third, first striking enemies. While I understand that this is a part of the game, the actual spell is more useful when salvaged, and it would be nice to have some sort of innate chance to first strike. When I have a Brewer with 17 power and fighting things with 9 HP but still dying because they always hit first, it feels unfair. It would also make things like Hangover and Undead Sympathy useful. Lastly, a way of retaining power like HP could improve the game by allowing us to reach higher levels via grinding. 4/5 from me right now, but some improvements could make it an easy 5.
Just a little bug I noticed - in level 1-1, while on the 4th floor, if I'm knocked back by one of the larger enemies onto another platform but don't die, somehow all of the enemies on that floor suddenly disappear. It's not really problematic, but I figured I might say something anyhow. Anyway, great game!
That shiny in the veni vidi vici rooms... I can't decide whether you're a level design genius or an absolute monster. Such a great game, though, 5/5 and favorited. I'm not one to pay for games like this, but that was the best 5 dollars I've ever spent. Great concept, great design, great execution, and great music. Thanks for such a wonderful game.
I love almost everything about this game. Almost. The fact that I hit level 44 and had my skill tree maxed, but wound up with 15 extra points in dexterity that I couldn't use because all three categories were already at 100, and a point deficiency in other areas, bothered me greatly. I couldn't get that feeling of completion, y'know? Other than that, everything was fine and the overall experience was excellent. Still, a highly addictive game. 5/5 from me.
Congratulations. You have given me one of the most incredibly frustrating yet perfectly entertaining games ever conceived. The music fits perfectly and somehow eases the frustration of dying thirty times before beating a single part of a level. I can't wait for a sequel. Thank you.
Wow... This is incredible. An impressive story for such a short game (in story terms, not in playtime). The levels were challenging and the artwork was absolutely beautiful. The concept of mixing a platformer with a hidden object theme was genius as well. I really hope to see a sequel.
I really feel that this game deserves a sequel. Something to increase the difficulty would be nice - it was good in length, but so easy that it felt a little on the short side. Some more configurations, a reset button, and maybe some variation in game modes could be nice. Anyhow, a great little puzzle game. 4/5 from me.
Finally unlocked the last regular song on pro... Suddenly I'm challenging the brothers on it... WAT. Anyhow, a great game, and the challenge was refreshing! Thanks Shinki!
Wow, I hadn't noticed that the intro sequence uses whatever equips you currently have active. Now THAT'S attention to detail. Congratulations, you have delivered yet another top-notch game. Keep up the good work.
I really hate trying to do Run'n'Gun because the audio is ever so slightly off from the notes (this is probably just for me) and it makes it extremely difficult to hold the multiplier at all.
Haha. I discovered that taking an item I'm wearing (a helm, for example) and swapping it with an item in my inventory will allow me to use the inventory item in its place, regardless of the category. Thus, I can wear my comfortable fish of luck as a hat.
@mattymuck Seriously? 36 was an ass. Took me half an hour to gold that just because it was impossible to get the ball to the last player. 33 took me about as many seconds to gold.
Thank you Relativeevil. Sequel? Hmmm. Who knows...
