@pvande - I had thought about trying to make a simple text game in SQL, but, as I quickly found it, currently, it's impossible to make a game strictly out of SQL. SQL does not have a looping type function to keep the game "alive". You can do some pretty creative things, but to the best of my knowledge, you can't keep it looped until the game is exited, and therefore, it just doesn't work. :(
I've tried all the suggestions, playing in IE, turning off the voice, muting chat, and lowering the quality...all seem to help a bit, but it still tends to lag a bit every now and then, and throws off the timing of the keys, making it VERY difficult to actually hit the right note at the right time. I wished there was an option to turn off the flashing circles around the note, I think that would drastically improve the framerate on it. Other than that, nice game, just not my type of game that I prefer.
Um, yeah, I don't think I can give a critical review of this that will help. Sadly, I couldn't find anything in this game to say anything positive about, sorry....
Nice adaptation of the game. Improvements would be more than 1 song, API for highscores, and removing the ability to move tiles anywhere (it moves them, and them shuffles them back, rather than just ignoring them to start with). All in all, nice game, great job. :)
First off, like others have said, this is a game site, not a tutorial site, not a video site, not a "Anything you want to upload" flash site...this is a game site, clearly, this is not a game. The other problem I have, is that you've never created a game yourself. It's obvious that you are just learning flash, which is fine, we all start somewhere...but please, don't upload tutorials explaining how to create a game, when you, yourself, have never created one. If you, yourself are learning flash, you may actually cause more harm then help if you tell someone how to do something, and it's a case of bad coding or design. And one last thing, quantity is NOT greater than quality. Take some time, design something nice, test it (and when you get sick of testing it, test it some more), and then have others test it. Once it's solid, then upload it. Don't upload a new version every few hours, hoping that it will be a nice upload and others will vote well for it.
One of the better avoider type games. Not bad, just not very exciting, gets a little boring after a few levels. Some powerups and a little more excitement thrown in, and API, and could be a great game. Also, high scores didn't work.
I agree with Hylius, it's not a horrible game, it's just lacking that fun factor. I completed the game in under 5 minutes, and honestly, I don't see a reason to play again. Great concept, could be a cool game, just needs something more to it.
CTRL actually does drop presents, I felt the same way at first, you have to be lined up exactly in the right spot it seems. For this, I give it a 2/5...the controls are horrible. If you are on the left side of the chimney (and on the roof, can't be flying), move to the left about arms length, and try the control key, moving closer each time until it works.
Uh, is this a game, or not? No score, no collision detection, no boundaries, and no point. Feels like it's the start of a game, but needs a lot of work first before it should be uploaded.
The random trajectory and the collision detection are way off on this. Also, the name "Arkanoid" is a real game, that's nothing like this. Sadly, is one of my favorite games, but this remake is not.
Fun game, good graphics, but I only scored it 2/5, because it felt more like an ad than a game...advertising, okay, but this is not much above those banner ads that are flash when it comes down to it.
Nice looking game, but quickly becomes boring. Not much excitement in this game. Also, I found that while shooting, often times the bats would fly too close to the mute option, and turn the sounds off.
I didn't rate this 1/5 because of the number of questions...I rated it that because not only is it a horrible "game" and it's incomplete, but the few questions it does have in the game, the answers are wrong. Also, why am I finding a small hidden button after answering a math question? The "game" makes no sense at all, and the mini "game" is worse. Sorry, but if you're learning to program, that's fine, but don't upload it here, please.
