Finally completed final boss. I have to say that doing so was frustrating enough that I won't be replaying this. Too bad, it had replay potential up until that point.
Used maxxed out Pulse, missile avoidance technique posted elsewhere, and hid up in the gap near the far right for the rain/diamond attacks. The crosshatch attack just find a cell quickly and stick in it precisely as it moves.
I'm with the rest of the folks who were very disappointed to see this game devolve at the end into a jumping platformer (with moving obstacles) at the end instead of a puzzle game. I loved it up until the final levels where it went completely wrong.
Hmm, have bombs been nerfed a bit? I've got max upgrades and I can't beat all the expert missions with the bombspam tactic.
I've got 30/40 done now, but on the levels with no loops, I run out of cash for the bombs even when I am as frugal as possible.
So I can't start a new character without deleting my existing one?
I'd be interested in seeing how the other chars progress but I don't want to lose a lvl 75 monk to do it.
25 needs as many fire unicorns as you can build situated so that the enemy is NEVER out of range of at least one of the turrets. With your 3k left over, make 6 level 3 lasers/frost and try to keep the path covered in as much slow as possible.
You can't ever have the fire stuff start over, it needs to be ticking for the whole level. If you do it right the tank will die on the straightaway leading to your base.
Need some help with 18. I've built as many doomsday/shadow towers as I can, and 1 AoE (cannon/laser/ice) slow tower.
I've tried clustering this on the left, the center, and the right. Still not getting through the level.
Tips? I'm not generally this clueless.
Finally gave in and did SA4 via juggling using the strategy that is on Youtube. 17 mins.
I still want to see someone do it in under 20 mins without juggling. I never got under 21 mins without it.
Just finished the game with the first character completely maxed out.
I got the code to enter on the character select screen but it did not enable the second character. Also, the stun>instakill skill does not work. I had it to 100% but i never saw a stunned monster instantly die on the next hit.
Anyone beat SA4 in under 20:00 without juggling? I've seen the juggling solves, but I'm uninterested. I want to see it done in the time limit without juggling.
I've beaten it many times without juggling, just never in 20 mins or less. Best I can do is about 23 mins so far.
It should be possible to go grinding for cash in order to fully max out your ship if a player wants to do so. Otherwise, a great game in the Starflight tradition... loved it.
