I haven't seen the code but I'll bet you holding the right arrow key increases horizontal speed by a factor of non-key-holding horizontal speed. If your horizontal speed is 0, every fraction of it is 0. This is unrealistic, as the power of sources of thrust isn't dependent on relative velocity, but it's good for playability, as a thrust of say 100 px/frame would overshadow the power of early shots, while it would be nearly useless with upgraded stats.
1.68 and dropping; lol@this. Surely, your replies to each and every comment insisting that submitting a pair of hyperlinks as a game does in fact adhere to the ToS will boost this page's rating and number of hits phenomenally. You appear to have already downloaded Flash; try making an actual game. Here, I'll help fund you: have $0.002 from my pageview!
Unfortunately the ad payments have not been set up and will not be set up, but thanks for the thought of the $0.002 anyway. And people are welcome to rate the game whatever they want. However, a lot of what you see going on here is the same people making duplicate accounts to downrate. How can you tell? Stay on the page and you will see the rating go down but the pageviews don't go up. It is great how much time/energy and effort people spend on this game. You would think they work for Kongregate or have absolutely nothing better to do.
I remember old actionscript! Sure, there's a lot of improvement to be had: the interface is wonky, the puzzle could be more intuitive, and of course it's very short. But the precept is solid! Developer, it looks like you really know what you're doing, and I want to encourage you: if you produce a game of this quality with a lot more content and a little more playtesting, it'll be a hell of a point and click. 4/5 for honestly good potential.
Of the 1,400 people whose time I wasted, I am astonished at the top 50 or so on high score leaderboard, who clicked the door more than a hundred times, or the walls and ground more than two hundred times. These people will be rewarded, as their scores will carry over to the blood-curdling sequel, "Should I Drink It?"
yep :D
