It would not be so bad if the games they made were somewhat decent. The artwork and quality is nowhere near par for a game you need to pay for. And quite often Fizzies products contain embarrassing and very bad bugs and extremely nasty game-play elements. For instance, their horrible Mario Party rip. The minigames are singeplayer, take way too long to complete and are mostly bugged. This game is the only half entertaining of the bunch!
Anything past normal goes into "The game is cheating" territory. No matter what I do, my fate is sealed on atleast the 25th day. Its kind of annoying just what lengths the game goes to in order to make sure the game is unwinnable on higher difficulties.
I made the mistake of playing puzzle mode first and was ready to dismiss the game entirely. Then I played action mode and suddenly fell right in love with it! The amount of panic it instills is brilliant without being too overwhelming
The new update is interesting, makes the game much easier. Certainly helped with keeping heroes in a group. However I just won in 27 days and got a Gold Medal (35 Days)
Thieves should really disarm traps they come across instead of ignoring them. Especially because traps become so common in the lower floors and do a metric assload of damage
Yay game over! Impassable rock spawned on both sides of a door in a corner therefore making it impossible to progress. Not blaming you, but thats just a wee bit silly
The concept is very good. However I just wished gold actually lured the adventurers towards the side paths. Because really how the maps I was given were, they completely doomed me to having to watch my guys wander around like fools in a cross junction constantly
It's a great game. Except that I had to restart because of a freezing bug. The exact recipe for leveling up your dungeon evaded me for a long time., which was annoying because it does not take very long for the level one creatures to become completely useless unless in gigantic hoard. Which is technically correct but it still makes traps much more efficient to just spam traps and let critters finish the job. I keep reading comments about how you are scared about getting sued. While EA is a evil corporate overlord the only way you could possibly be sued is to completely remake dungeon keeper in every way. As far as I know, Dungeon Keeper's mechanics have not been patented.
There is much more that can be done to the game. Giving characters more personality definitely. Giving creatures abilities.
I went with three stacks of dual towers, with the very last stack being Cannons. At the very bottom of each stack was either damage boost or eye. I went boost-eye-eye-boost
With that strategy in mind, I got through Survival without losing a toy and got my badge.
