@mytunes15 if you think that's bad, the badge used to require all 9 dungeons, not just 7! on a related note, after you finish a dungeon, leave it with the exit the boss drops, not by teleporting to nexus, or you wont get credit.
the servers have been down for over 10 hours today. crashes and bugs and item loss are common, even things you pay real money for. it takes hours, or days, to contact a GM who speaks very poor english, and only ever says "ok i will let the guys know about your problem", except with poorer grammar. btw, the guys dont do anything about your problem. this is just a warning to any new players.
my only small complaint is that the last boss is kind of tedious: takes a long time to kill, never changes attack pattern, and is easy enough to dodge to never be a threat. other than that, awesome game.
i'm just guessing, but i think that the multi-pulling issue only happens when you're doing a higher level quest/dungeon/zone, because you're more likely to "aggro" higher level monsters, just like in WoW. that's just my theory based on when it happens to me, as it seems to make the most sense, unless it's a bug.
oh lord, do NOT use poison on the red-eyed dragon head on top, it will act as a permanent unremoveable regen for him, 17k per round. always scan first :(
uhh "heroes of might and magic" is a very well known, popular, long-running series that started in the mid 90's and is currently on its 5th game (6th in 2011). however, using many elements from that series doesn't make this game bad, rather it's the lag, bugs, mediocre customer service and over-emphasis on 'the newest sale' that has made me change my rating of this game from 5/5 to 3/5.
@fishbro: OR instead of assuming that mail was magically permanent for some weird reason, you could have asked how long mail usually lasts, and you would've found out that it usually gets deleted every thursday maintenance...but it's ok it's someone else's fault not yours!
if you like this game, i recommend trying (aka torrenting) the Heroes of Might and Magic series (start with #2 or 3), which Heroes of Gaia has "borrowed" heavily from, even the name! HoMM games did it better and with MUCH less downtime (aka none), but this game is still close enough to warrant 5/5.
in-game kill counter would be nice, true, but you can check how many your current guy has killed via highscores -> monsters killed -> friends tab....unless you have 100 other friends who play this game?!? also, again, make sure to stay connected to the chat server for your game to save.
tips to help avoid losing saves: make sure you're connected to the chat server before logging off (according to colino the game is saved in the chat.kongregate.com folder), make sure that the guy you're currently playing is both from a slot and is the current autosave character, and to be extra careful, to log off, first go to the trophy room, then go back to the game, hit f5, then go back to trophy room and 'log out'. keep in mind that autosave is done a couple seconds after each battle, and every time you visit the trophy room.
does anyone else find themselves unconsciously trying to make perfect jumps even when you're trying to do the 15000m badge? those stupid balloons are addictive :( as for distance, you pass by "distance blimps" every 1000m, but you probably shouldn't take your eyes off the tracks long enough to look at them... p.s. double/triple tap photos, fly-by's and sparks for another bonus
actually you don't get the health regen until your 60th badge, much like how you get new powerups to drop at 20 and 40 badges, and golden bullets at 78/78 badges. the bullets aren't a major boost to damage but every bit helps when going for the imp badge. also, if you're afraid to touch a double shot while you have triple shot running, dont be, double actually refreshes the duration of triple.
great game, very enjoyable! my only pet peeve is that when a game has "kill x number of y" or "collect x of z" or "die x times" medals / achievements, it should show your progress towards them. also, a minimap would be nice, or at least buttons more convenient to reach than O or P. those are just minor annoyances though, still gave the game a well-deserved 5/5.
first 5-6 tries in a row, all between 10-20 days. last try, $6k on day 1, $11k on day 2, won on day 3. i think this game might be luck based, guys.
on a side note, you can buy the right-most upgrade and it'll only charge you for that one, you don't have to buy them incrementally like i first assumed; took me a couple tries to notice that...
