t doesnt load for me either, but i right click and click play and it works, maybe thats your problem.and to save exit a city and then click the wrench at the bottom right corner of screen. there you save.
to get the bard, go to the south-east corner of the first town you get to, first he'll say that he doesn't want to talk to you, but later he'll join your party as a ranger
