Also, one more thing to add, on boss stages, if you're not near max mana, don't waste it on trees to get gold. Build a lot of towers, then upgrade them as you get gold, quantity of quality. You'll want max mana at the end to rain down fears and meteors. Don't click potions unless you have to, save them for the spell spam at the end.
Tips for getting brilliant: Make sure you have 70 mana at all times (140 mid way through, 210 later) for fear. That will save you from that one pesky enemy that slips through. Try to set it up so you can have the Ice Crypt, Catapult Den, and Temple of Hellfire able to attack near entrances. That combo will kill basically everything in the game. However, make Shattering Crypts, Bunker Dens, and Temple of Ifrits in the back to quickly pick off and fear any enemy that slips through. Lastly, the instant a map loads, get the Mana Pool, it pays off quickly. Message me for any questions, I've got all of the badges and would be happy to help.
Oh, forgot to add, having those and equipping 2 gaia vests is the whole build (maybe a zodiac memory later on), what you'll be lacking damage will be mitigated by constant Grand Cosmos's. I went max end then put everything else into Power, so that much power with constant GCs just mows through stuff.
First off, if you all would just read the strategy guide that he provides, you would see that the zodiac monster does a move called zodiac curse, which lowers you to 1 health for 10 seconds, and he does other curses which gives you different status effects. So if he did the one for poison then cursed you, you die. So knowing that, you have to plan accordingly, best thing to do is chrono matters once he does either move to you. You can also buy equipment to make you 100% invulnerable to poison.
Secondly, Maxed Endurance and Pegasus with Galyen is soooo broken. You heal so insanely quick with the max end, and pegasus, who is just a tier 3 pet, gives you 3 seconds of invincibility when you get hit. I've just been starting missions then leaving lol.
I'm ashamed of the Kongregate community for whining about the boss fight when it is possibly one of the easiest in the game. Want to know how to do it? Stay on the bottom half during his first 3 attacks, top half during the next 3, collect shinys as you go...yeah...that's it. He has no real AI, luck is not involved, if you can't figure out that he goes top to bottom 6 times at the same heights every time....then you should quit, because the internet has made you stupid. It's not that hard, I got the badges fairly simply. It's all about learning the opponents attacks, and comboing the groups without letting spare enemies hit you. Basically, don't be an idiot, and learn to play the game :)
Here was my strategy to beat the game, pretty simple. I had the fireball and pheonix powers, 2 ranged units, and 4 melee. Keep all of your units at the very back in the beginning. After 20 seconds or so, fireball the guys they have not moving in front of the boss, not the boss though. let them come, swarm/fireball them and bring your guys back again. Fireball the boss, swarm/fireball once he reaches you. Now your army should be full. Rush all out to the castle, shortly before you reach it, use the phoenix. Once you hit it, they will start to swarm you. The phoenix/fireball combo will blow most of it away. From there it's a constant rush to the castle. Pretty simple. Key unit IMO is the succubus. Get that maxed out and they are AMAZING once you start attacking the castle. Those swarms won't be an issue with them.
