Great game, but boy does it get hard in the later levels. I think that someone needs to take some time to calculate likelihood that you will get certain letter combinations to find the best set of letters to have.
For the lockpick:
Move the mouse to the handle. Hold the mouse button down. Slowly rotate the handle clockwise (or counterclockwise) one or two clicks at a time. Do it slowly. When you hit the right spot, the handle will start to shake. Hold it there, and the chest will open.

Please please PLEASE use realistic physics for space games!
Space ships in space do not stop when they stop accelerating, they continue to move! Very counter-intuitive.
Add:
1) Auto-paths for people in various prefectures (like 'rally points' or the like.
2) Auto-grouping for like units
3) Exchanging units between prefectures next door (so you can move gladiators or skeletons to get knights, for instance, in a full prefecture)
4) A vertical 'hold' button, or the ability to click-target a certain unit/click-defend with a certain unit (not unit type)
Remove:
1) Holding aimlessly as the default. Free should be the default, with 'hold' as an option
My favorite aspect of Kongregate is where people who can't form opinions for themselves copy-paste the opinions of the ignorant. It's like a double-whammy of idiocy, and it just smells so good.
Horribly buggy -- keep hitting a phantom enemy when I try to take over towns and having to reload, just lost my lvl 37 character due to reloading to boot.
Level 43... Ugh...
