@doulikemewtf You really cant compare RS and WoW, your trying to compare a java game you can play out of your browser with a downloadable game played out of its own client. I play both and can say that each has their own strong points and each have their less than amazing qualities. RS is about leveling all your skills and completing quests, there is more diversity in what a single character is able to do. WoW is not about the leveling proccess, it is mostly about the end game content that you get to after hitting the level cap and pvp. In WoW you are more engaged into how you carry out the tasks set before you.

naruto your a little wrong on that. Andrew Gower (the creator of runescape) made the first concept for the game in 1999, it was called DeviousMudd. Later that year he scrapped that project and began wroking on it all over again. It wasn't until 2001 that Runescape was officialy released to the public. In 2003 Jagex released Runescape 2 and the original rs became known as Runescape classic. And Jagex has released statements that they are not working on and do not plan on ever working on a RS 3.
Runeraider sometimes its best to go with whats better for the game in the long run instead of what the players want which will sometimes ultimatly harm the game. Rooy Jagex's mission is not to compete with WoW but instead to offer an MMORPG that can be played by anybod yno matter how bad of a computer they have. The don't need to upgrade the game for that. cool I do hope english isnt your first language becuase I could barely understand anything that you have typed.
Xaclen compared to downloadable MMOs RS isn't to spectacular, compared to any other browser-based MMO you can find RS takes the cake. What were you expecting graphics wise from a java browser MMO? If Free gets expanded then the reasons for members get shrunk, fewer people subsribe; Jagex doesnt want that. Free trade had to go to keep the game alive. I spent 10 minutes on google, didn't find a better browser based MMO, if you can refer me to one please do. With that said I think I'll continue to play Runescape.
Warlord what you described is really a minority of people within the Free community found mostly in populated areas. It only seems like alot because they constantly spam their messages in the chat. Back in my free days of Runescape I found that I could easily have a semi-intelligent conversation with a good portion of the people. That community you described is virtually non-existent within the Memebers world.
If anybody wants to find a small forum board dedicated to runescape then go to Rune-forum.com. It is a safe site, i'm a mod there. So if you're interested please check it out. All i ask is that you dont act nooby or beg or anything like that.
Pking and free trade were removed for a very good reason. RWT was using both of those systems to easily transfer money from a lvl 3 bot to somebody who had bought RS money with real money. These RWT companies were using stolen credit cards to fund their operations and when people filed for cc fraud Jagex were the ones who had to pay up. Banks were getting mad at Jagex for all this and were about to stop allowing Jagex to offer a cc subscription option. If this had gone through Jagex would have lost atleast 50% of their players, and the game would have been put in Jeopardy. Plus RWT would still be around at full strength.
If you think Runescape sucks can you atleast give a valid reason on why it sucks? I see comment after comment saying it sucks but i dont see any comments about why it sucks.
Everybody has their own taste in games. Some people think Runescape is the best, others think WoW is the best, and others prefer other MMO's. If your going to call people retarted for not liking what you like you might as well call people retarted for having an opinion, and to me thatis just plain stupid. @GameGod, weplay rs here becausethe mainsite doesnt have thatnicelittle sidechat.

hindu that willnot do any good. The only way people willstop bashing runescape is if it is taken off the site. People will continue to try to force their negative views of the game onto others. If we stop defending the game then people who have not played rs again will only see hateful comments toward the game and automaticaly think it is bad and not give the game a chance.
artasmas the game did not revolve around pking. Jagex did not mess anything up, they kept the game alive. RWT (real world trading) was ruining the game. If you don't understand why RWT was ruinning the game then read my comment that is curretly at the top of page 3. And nobody bought Jagex, Jagex only did what was necesary.
