the music is nice. but the game has some serious issues with depth. and wth, an achievement to beat it with five differntly styled chars, but they are all the same, so beating it five times? and the guns are not that far apart too and the creatures neither ...
i still vote to improve battle ai. latest thing i noticed is that the summoned daemon used inferno against a single enemy, whereas he could have used single lighting flash to do much more damage. did i already tell you, that this is a good game and i respect your effort and commitment? some other things that would make the gameplay more convenient: keyboard to move the character and/or "sliding" alongside objects, so the char does not stop when bumping into them and OOOOOOR automated pathfinding :-D ... for which the algorithm is not that complex. you just(!) would have to make an overlay for each screen which splits the screen into rectangular areas with each area "knowing" its neighbor areas. thus, when clicking on the screen, the engine can determine the path by walking the areas connecting the click and the char.
a suggestion would be to make combat ai a bit smarter ... meaning friends and foes do just attack random enemies. but imo they should attack where it does most damage to the enemy team. priorities could be 1. to kill an enemy if possible 2. attack the most dangerous enemy 3. to attack a enemy that has enough health, so the whole damage gets subtracted. ... also taking into account spells on friends and enemies. ... i was amazed when the daemon hit the wolve that had just one 1hp anymore and was bleeding to death by itself anyways with his powerful 80+ lightning attack. ;-)
i am on the 2nd last level now. and i realize this game needs a mass movement function. i have to move 25 dots because i started at the wrong place of the board. ... argh
help! i am stuck at beginning of area 2. after i break the box and take the shovel i am unable to drop down to the floor with the first two enemies. do i miss something? my controls are: UP=jump, DOWN=grab, S=attack, A=drop, F=aim up. thanks for your help!
i made it on nightmare!!! 713k points, 122 survivors, 3 endings found, ~255 days. i chose to reclaim all squares. imo most important are defences (police stations and malls), keeping people from dieing (hospital, food, research), recruiting (housing, scouting), happiness (reclaim all nearby bars and churches, later with more resources, change mcnoodles, gas stations and supermarkets). sending 70+ soldiers on missions to kill 210+ zeds needs a bulk assignment option. maybe i write a tutorial. soldier willis, eye-injured renaming to "2d" willis made me lough.
