Liking so far.
- Would be nice to be able to change classes.
- Would be nice to have the crystals do something other than increase income.
- Would be nice to raid other areas. Maybe a dungeon crawl?
- Maybe I just haven't seen them but maybe a boss monster or three?
- Loot?
Anyway. Thanks for listening to my suggestions. Haben!
Dev: Please be aware. If you do not already have a deal with "Kong.com" software you are in danger. They have trademarked the word "saga" and like to sue indie developers into the dirt for using it. Scummy tactic, but they have the lawyers on retainer to make it work.
The larger purchase Jade Ryo coins are equal in ratio to the smaller purchase ones. (5 = 25% 50 = 250%) There is no incentive to hunt tougher bosses outside of one or two "achievements." In fact it is far more efficient to simply stop immediately after the first or second boss. (Or just before you have any difficulty whatsoever killing a boss.) Not an ideal balance. No real reason to go for the higher bosses till you are ready to "go all the way."
I know the game is not very beginner-friendly. I tried to write the most important stuff into mouseovers, so people can find it out. But it is kind of hard to write everything so that everybody understands it. And then most people won't read it anyway. I might try to add a bit more info or write some info a bit better. At least you have much stuff to find out and it won't become boring that fast. You also don't lose much or anything at all if you do something wrong and the game has also a chat and forum where there are a lot of helpful people and info for the game.
In the 'special fighting' area. The instructions say that "Using a skill 3 times reduces the clone training cap..." This seems to be the only listed effect. It's seriously permanent, and it does not seem to be beneficial. As more clones = faster training. Why would you want to do this activity please?
Reducing the clone training cap means you need less clones for the skill to be capped while gaining the same result.
So as an example: If a skill is capped with 200 clones and you reduce the cap so it is capped with only 1 clone, you will gain the same effect with only 1 clone as with the 200 clones before the cap was reduced.
I didn't mind upgrading to premium with labyrinth. It was worth it. I will not engage in a hoard of microtransactions from board 1. I HATE that Gemcraft is going in this direction. Achievement "lost a fan" unlocked. 8..(..
I would recommend switching from an almost immediately unusable percentage system to an absolute set of points system. I have numerous programmers putting in various percentages of a progress bar they are never going to work on. Alternatively, have the game adjust the listed percentages to what they are on the ->current<- progress bar. 8)
The characters keep asking me to use skills that are not available till the battle is basically over. (Boss battles being the exception.) They do seem mostly pointless.
The game is just getting to a stable state, expect more content soon!
