Don't use explosives. I don't know why, but every time i have (missle turrets, grenade launcher, ect) my gunmen have stopped firing for no reason, which quickly leads to death. Since this game has no save feature, save yourself some agony.
The "addition earn for achievement" bonus is actually amazing. As of right now i am earning 17% more souls PER ACHIEVEMENT. Let's just approximate that for a second. (17 = 20) Every 5 achievements i have is DOUBLING the amount of souls i collect. That includes all the Prey upgrades you have that increase the base amount. Just as a example, My Charon (reaper boss) says he gives me about 1 million souls per kill. I actually get over 10 million from him once all bonuses have been applied.
It's not that the last track is hard, it's that the standard your held to is absurd. The lap record is 35.04 seconds, and if you get a time of 35.5 seconds on every lap, you will lose this race. You basically need to match or beat the lap record on every lap to win, which is absurd.
To me the 5th level was actually the hardest of all of them. I see alot of potential in a game like this though, good work. But, even though the sound is nice, add a mute button just so people will stop complaining.
In order to get the special bows you MUST have bought the final bow. So you have to buy the lonely bow, play another mission for rainbow, buy the mega ultimate bow, do another mission for bow of lost souls, beat ergoths throne (you have to play it again, even if you already have an S rank) for necro, beat athena for amazon, and then zakum for bloodthirsty, but as i said, you need to buy them all first.
Tip for getting S ranks. If you aim through the second 0 in the "100%" power bar, your arrows will land on the right side of the blue triangle, and give you enough time to react when something spawns. As for bosses firing in the hole in the bottom of "%" at 100 lands them about on their head.
And i thought pinball was frustrating. Good god. Especially that last room. Though i have to agree with the other two comments. Very solid design, and a very simple mechanic. The only real problem i had was trying to remember which way what flipper spun while the ball was in motion. While it was stationary i could just swing back and forth to see which way it is, but under time constraint i found that i had to trial and error my way through some of the areas because i couldn't process which way every flipper went beforehand. Not sure how you would show that, but yeah. Nice job Miyamoto.
Sometimes if you press the spacebar fast enough when a stage is over you can skip a level. Pressing the key before the "level complete" screen shows up will make you go to the next level, where the "level complete" screen will show up instantly, and clickable to skip the level.
The only problem i have with this game is that sometimes if you press a direction, it will lock in and you'll keep going that way. Other than that it is a pretty cool game. 4/5
Very fun game, for a while. Eventually you just get to put it on autopilot, but until that point its great. One suggestion though, is to make a timer on the hammer swings instead of one per combo, would be more fun if i could still smash things and not have to watch how it plays out.
Gotta love hackers on high scores though (hitting the maximum value for a long long int).
Finally got the impossible badge.....a week after i got it for both dash hopes 3 and seven circles.
Keep working at it and you will get it eventually. As for me...HELL YEAH!!
Must.....get.....impossible badge. So far I've gotten everything except 8 circles (only 83%) but I'm only able to beat it sometimes, keep failing on the where you have to go up and down at the same time....6 times in a row. Since I'm playing on a laptop I do agree that having a key mapping feature would be amazing, but otherwise great game.
For all of you saying that this game sucks try to look at it from a design perspective. They only have one action they are allowed to do, effectively making this a one button game. I challenge any of you to try to come up with something better under this limitation.
