If you hit the hotkey for give up (L) and hit retry just as the enemy's attack finishes hitting you, you can have them do the first attack in the battle instead of you.
I'm not sure whether this was intentional or not, but I was playing level 16 on hard mode, and I used timestop. When the timestop started, the boss was doing his spin attack. He continued to spin forward towards my base without stop during the course of the time stop, and when the timestop finished, he was litterally at my base (he had started at his almost) , stopped spinning, and resumed to attack afterwards. He destroyed my base within ten seconds.
