If anyone's having issues with the game running very slowly and pretty much freezing up Windows, it may be caused by your cpu's hyperthreading, so try disabling it in the bios - that worked for me.
hugoooo: the upgrade cost is shown on the item. I think the interface would be better if the upgrade cost was shown on or near the upgrade button, though.
As a Great Sea mage it's possible to defeat Magesblood in the first assassin battle, and doing so earns you 2 skill points and a fame point as opposed to a single skill point for losing, plus you still get to do the oldhealer stuff. To do so you need 70 HP, 190 mana, maxed out attacks (low, high, additional low, additional high) and Mana Leak level 3 (the spell that works on its own, not the bolt version) - to get these stats you need to skip the tutorial fight, take the orb, and rescue Waterrip in an optional event in the dark alleys after getting the orb (choose the skill points). Match Magesblood's attacks until you can cast Mana Leak, then keep matching his attacks until he's out of mana. After this you can follow a pattern of matching his attack, resting twice, attacking with everything (cancelling out his counter and dealing 5 damage), resting twice again, and so on. It's a little bit tedious and there's no real need to do it but it's nice to know it can be done. :)
