Ode to air
An ode for the one that surrounds me most
To the one that helps me breath easy
The cool and ever encompassing
Breath of life, – Air
From the first breath at birth air fills us with life
Then as we grow air helps us pronounce our very first words
Then as we get older we take deeper breaths to calm us when we get angry
But never in a shortness of breath is our friend air
With out we would literally be fish out of water
But the silent and invisible guardian watches over us
With out any gratitude for the gift of a lifetime of energy
Taking in our needed O2 and leaving our polluted CO2
As we mature so stays our friend air with every frustrated breath
Still soothing like a calm summers breeze
Or the warm embrace of a billowing fireplace
And all the frustration seems to have been swept away
In a life time of service air will never abandon you
Since the first breath at birth
The first breath of a life
The final gasp, of a life’s last breath
