A small thing i would like is if you could close a tab på clicking again on its button, for example if i click "updates" and just wants to check if i can afford something and then close it again fast, then clicking on the same button to return would be nice. Otherwise i like the new ui and the game in general

upgrade and use tor (the golems), they have an upgrade that lets them block multiple enemies. and build strongholds, they give more initial points to build with
