laff @ all the crybabies saying the first boss is too hard....last i checked a game is supposed to be challenging. I didn't beat him my first time, instead of complaining on here that he's too hard i just did it again and I won.
Didn't notice one bit of difference from last version, other than perhaps a tad easier. The concept of only being able to use 1 gun at a time is still completely retardo. Even if the guns you weren't using randomly fired anywhere with completely stupid AI that would be better than them just sitting there doing nothing.
Lastly, I think the developers can come up with a better name for the game than 'Protector'! Come on be creative, even Desktop Mage Defense would have been a better name! :P
All in all I think it's one of the best games I've played on here in awhile.

As for unit placement, it would really be nice if you could at least destroy units if you can't sell them. That could eliminate a lot of frustration and you would still be penalized the gold for wasting that unit.
A game speed setting in game would be great, a lot of times you are waiting and waiting for slower enemies to make it around the board.
Also, no 'Hooray you beat the game screen?' I've completed 24 maps, I think that's all of them?
And since they cost so much you dont really get to use them till later on in the boards, and its hard to afford multiples. It would be nice to see a gold skill to help gain money faster to combat this problem. Ultimate Mastery seems to heavily outweigh Advanced Units.
Also AOE damage does not seem to be all that it can be, I would specialize mages way up for splash and didn't notice much AOE damage. Never even noticed any AOE damage from Paladin consecration.

Great game, definitely the longest flash game I have ever played. Not ridiculously difficult to figure out winning strategies like DTD.
My comments and opinions: Pretty challenging game especially at first but once you get the hang of it quite easy. The only maps I had real problems with were Unknown Ruins and the Rat Trap, but I just played them over and over again until I figured out a winning strategy. Hard Marathon = big disappointment! Too easy, won it on first try and only lost 5 lives.
I'm not sure if I just dont know how to properly use the advanced units or if they just aren't that great, but I very very rarely put skill points in them. For starters they cost 10 times as much, and dont seem to do 10 times as much damage.
Nice game but VERY lacking as far as an RPG goes. First of all whats the point of exploring dungeons if you level up when you get to a new level? Also, wheres the fun in levelling up if you can get any skill at any level? Can't use potions during combat (as far as I could find out). Cleric damage buff is WAAAY overpowered on characters that have AOE skills. Game too easy, no challenge. I do like the music though.
I agree the lack of AI makes this game pretty pointless. Why buy extra guns if they can only be used one at a time? Can't even put out enough damage to get past the stage with the gunboats. Fix it and it could be a good game.
Fun game very addictive...
One thing that strikes me as weird though, in baseball left handed batters hit to left field 90% of the time. Practically every time i hit the ball it goes to right field :D
Challenging at beginning, but thats it.
Had fun with this in early levels, but when I got the lazer cannon and bloodlust I got 50,000 XP in one level and bought all weapons and powerups, no challenge from there on.
Just spin in circles with fully auto shotgun
And once the point of it going on forever, all games need to end.
Fun game but several quirks.
First of all, instructions kind of suck. It says '6 commandable units' in the game description, but theres no explanation on how to command the units. I could not figure it out.
Secondly, unit production is botched. If I click on summon units they dont summon and theres no explanation on how the population system works.
Third, there is no full screen or increased resolution option. There are lots of things that I can't even read in the game because it is so tiny with my windows resolution.
