Hey ski_masta, the turn can only be skipped if you are using some ability that skips turns. There abilities have a number on them (look in the bottom left corner). These abilities are usually extra powerful, but not always: sometimes they need to be backed up with something else to become really powerful. Also, Ginga-3000 has a few abilities that can reduce the number of skipped turns.
