You're better than that Bob! If you're having trouble getting thru undamaged, you can do it pretty easily on Level 5. I know; it's a boss. But, if you IMMEDIATELY get right up in his face, on the right, with only 1 extra weapon (so you're still small) you can just sit there and fire away, without getting hit. After that, you can replay for 5K a round to grind out some easy $$$$.
Previous posts are correct. Fun game, if you really play it.
As others have said, f you just want to win: Autosend from the options menu, upgrade spearmen when you have some dough, then it almost becomes an idle game. Straight line of spearmen will never lose.

MLGproon: I've long the same thing for many games. It would be the loooooooongest DoT attack. Quick attack with a rusty dagger - 5 points damage. Runaaawaaaaaayyy! Nine months later: target dies of lock jaw.
Archerbob - It is very much a part of the strategy of the game. Remaining bombs role over to the next wave; sometimes it's better to save them, sometimes it's better to use 'em all.
I did NOT get the hard badge without getting the whistles (hitting the refs). Playing via Chrome, in case that matters.
However, one need not hit the Refs and beat the gold time at the same time. Beat the time, then, if necessary, replay the level and hit the refs at your leisure.
Never Mind. The Whistles are for hitting Refs, which is also apparently needed to get the hard badge. However, you don't need to get the gold and the Ref in the same turn. I went back and picked up the few Refs I had skipped. Still no hard badge 'till I refreshed, but now, all is right in 5/5 land.
