Harder doesn't test any relevant skill. Your happiness is too low to start with and you lose it too readily. Bad luck constantly assails you, to the point where I had a single leader holding a 10 tile empire despite having not lost a square because of roving Catholics bikers. I like a challenge but this is like trying to break down the Berlin wall with a toffee hammer.
