This is literally my favorite game on this site. I replay it every Valentine's day, since like 2012, because of the music and narration. Thanks for a great game!
This game is so unbelievably laggy that I literally can't even open the door to my room. If I hold down the left/right button I fly through the wall (I assume, because I can't see it happen since there's so much lag) and die. This is ridiculous. I just want the badge to clean up my remaining quests. Changed the quality with right click but so much lag I can't even open the spacebar menu!
Totally unplayable due to lag on OS X Yosemite using Chrome. I stuck it out clicking randomly around the screen for the badge of the day. My screen refresh rate was only once every five or six seconds. Almost ten seconds of latency for any key to register (including clicking, pause menu, etc.) so it became totally random. Disappointing since I set the entire game to the lowest quality possible and still, the second I moved or shot the whole thing froze up.
I played a while in December, then came back yesterday to continue for BotD. It worked fine. Came back today to a deleted game. I didn't change my cookies/etc. so not sure where my game went. Not worth my effort to regrind through thousands of dollars.
I realize this is a horror game and mood is important, but not being able to walk faster than a snail's pace ruined the immersion for me. Instead of being involved, I was clicking the edge of the screen repeatedly as fast as I could to get to the next door, then double-clicking that. Thanks for the accessibility though! I'm grateful for not needing to put on hearing aids to do the fog puzzle.
Tried again in Safari. Got past the Flash window but the lag is so bad it's taking up to ten seconds for my clicks to be recognized--which any player will recognize as rendering meteor etc. completely useless.
Anyone else having trouble playing this? I keep getting hit with an "Adobe Flash Player Settings" window at random and I have to refresh the page because it won't let me click anything. I'm on Chrome--will try again on another browser for BotD.
Badge of the day two weeks in a row? I play the weekly/shiny challenges to get exposed to great new games, not to see the same thing twice in four days.
I really really wanted to enjoy this game, and I did enjoy the gameplay, but even at the lowest quality and all other options turned off, it was freezing my browser just trying to change my equipment. For all of my teammates, it got to be too much waiting, not enough of the enjoyable game. Unfortunate, because I really enjoyed this one (even if I just spammed mage the whole time).
love this game but having a hard time figuring out movement. i've upgraded speed several times and i still seem to move much slower than is useful, move at a variable rate, and can barely change direction to move backward on the screen. i appreciate having different speed when hitting an enemy but it's becoming frustrating that EVERYTHING can move backwards [and usually forwards] faster than i can move, especially after several rounds of upgrade.
also, does anyone have trouble with lots of text getting cut off? no matter how much i change my zoom level parts of the main screen are still unreadable.
i absolutely could not figure out how to dig or really do anything. needs a better tutorial including basic explanation of menus and game mechanics. when is a round over? etc. 1/5. should not have been considered for badge of the day.
whenever i click continue my little avatar is gone from the level and i can't do anything. . .i finally rebooted the game and it happened again on level 4.
every time i open the page, my progress is erased [but not badges]. anyone else? i'm running a beta of the newest firefox. still have my progress on light temple.
