Never played Advance Wars, but I have played Hex Wars before! A long time ago. Don't know if this is the same dev or just someone who uploaded an old game... but Hex Wars was the answer to the old Battalion Nemesis games in flash. Not sure but maybe Advance Wars is a ripoff too, or maybe Hex Wars was always a ripoff of something else. But if you want a longer game checkout the Battalion games, probably still here on Kon and there where several games with several missions each.
