@HeavenSent There really aren't mods here. You can find a number of way to get help in the game. In the toolbox (opens across the bottom of the game's frame, click the gear icon, then Community. To contact Support, click "Get Help" (AT has its own support, so you'll want to reach them this way, though Kong support will also forward inquiries to them). The primary community space, with participation from mods, is on Discord. There's also an active community on Reddit. Links to both are in the lower half of the Community Tab. I can't really speak for the other apps/spaces listed there.
I have no issues running this game on Win 11, Chrome browser. No lag, no crashes, no problems with saves. I believe that saves are local, so you do have to have your browser configured to allow that.
Brilliant ratings on level 20 and 21 are extremely difficult. 20 is easier than the original version (where it was the hardest level by most accounts), while 21 is nearly impossible. Fortunately, if you got the badges before the HTML 5 version replaced the original, they carried over. So I have the badge for getting all the Brilliants at night, but I'm not sure I could get it again. You'll definitely want to stock up on skulls!
It's a good concept, but not a good game. I'm amazed that it's being featured on the home pagesd. The developer seems to have gotten fall and drop mixed up, as well as what a word is. (Spoiler Alert: The solutions are not words.) Not to mention the fact that there's no way to get any of the puzzles on the first try, since there's no indication of where the letters will be dropped, so even if the concept were clear AND the physics were accurate (neither of which is the case), it would still be frustrating, as there's no way to predict where the letters are going to end up. And when the letters do drop, it happens too quickly to see what's going on, so you don't know which letters might work better, or even in what order. More and better hints are needed, and every level should have them. Kudos for the idea -- but it needs a TON of work, especially in terms of usability.
I GOLed (Groaned Out Loud) when I saw that this game had another BOTD this week. Isn't a game supposed to rate higher than 3.5 stars to be a BOTD? And how did this game manage to get 3.5 stars?
@nettie2504 What did you submit a pic of as proof? Is the level 2 menu sufficient? I can't think what else... Maybe the main menu, where it says 5% done?
The game *does* work. It was affected by the Microsoft IT outage a couple weeks ago. (That's what was generating Error 33002.) It was down for less than a day, IIRC.
@LadyTolstoy: The code works just fine. Go to edit your profile (upper left corner of main screen - if you get the avatar selection, select the other tab of that panel). You can enter it right there. Maybe not the most obvious spot to enter that, but it does work.
@Devs: Are you allowed to post a link to your Discord in the game's description? Game was working fine yesterday, but now I'm getting Error 33002 before it even finished loading. I remember seeing a link to the Discord in-game, but of course I haven't joined it yet, and now I can't get in to the game at all! Thanks!
My game is freezing at the end of Stage 1 as well. Music continues playing, but the game is non-responsive otherwise (except for off-site links). I'm using Chrome on Windows.
I play pretty often with no trouble. Chrome on Windows, current versions.
You can ignore the level selector, as your progress will reset each time you load the game, but so what? Since the goal is a speedrun, it's not a big deal to start from level 1 every time. It only takes a few minutes to play all the levels anyway. When you're good enough to finish, speedruns will be unlocked -- but you'll always have to play through once to unlock speedruns, every time you load it. My best time is about 4.5 minutes, which is not quite fast enough to get into the top 100 of all time (on Kongregate; I think that each platform has its own leaderboard). And finally, IanThePro - Why use the keyboard? I've found the mouse buttons to be easier.
Hopefully someone has notified Kong that this game doesn't work anymore so they can choose a different BOTD. The loading screen says it's 100% loaded, but then there's a spinny thing that says "Loading API." And that's it. Nothing else happens.
When you are in a building, you should be able to hit escape to exit. It would also be nice to have more keyboard shortcuts for the options in the buildings. The less switching between keyboard and mouse, the better, and it's mostly a keyboard game. The not being able to drill upwards thing is a little annoying, and I don't see a purpose to it, other than to make life a little more challenging. I would also like a way to lift off in a shaft to where there is a deposit and begin drilling horizontally while in flight. If there's currently a way to do that, I didn't discover it. Maybe it could be an upgrade -- as could the ability to drill upward? And this other game that everyone is talking about? Are they all just mis-spelling Motherlode or Mother Lode, or is there really a game called Motherload? Is it still playable anywhere?
Actually, you can quit buildings by pressing Q. Esc is reserved by the browser to exit cinematic mode. Also, you can navigate through building menus using WASD or the Arrow keys and hit the Spacebar or Left Shift to use the most common options, so you don't really need a mouse. As for drilling - it's a little challenge you need to overcome)
Today's riddle is wrong. Octopi do not have ink at all; you're thinking of squid. Some octopi can change their color to they blend in with their surroundings, even matching patterns, while others simply hide; they can fit in surprisingly small spaces.
I just got the 8-Day badge, and I don't have three stars on any of my Characters. So basically, I finished the game -- and I'm certainly not grinding for more stars. (Well, not unless Kongs adds more badges; then we'll see.)
The text box needs to get the focus automatically so you don't have to click in it every time. Also, when you answer your first RotD, there should be a button to "Yesterday's RotD" so that you can discover the archive (and keep playing). Every riddle should have the same button, making it easy to play through the archive if you're new, and for experienced players to catch up if they've been away. Otherwise, it's cute and fun.
In all of the discussion about the difficulty of the badges, I haven't noticed anybody address WHY this game has badges at all, let alone is eligible for BOTD. I thought there were standards for BOTD games, like it had to have X number of plays, Y number of ratings, and AT LEAST 4 Stars to even be considered for BOTD. WTH happened that allowed this unfinished garbage to pollute our week?
