This game has always saved progress, and still does. If you're having issues, it's probably your browser settings, system security, or anti-virus software that's causing it (or CCleaner, or something like that). Make sure that you're not clearing your browser cache or cookies automatically -- for starters. Make sure that this site is allowed to save local data, and that it's not cleared automatically when you close your browser. I don't even know all the things to check, especially since every browser and anti-virus is different, but you have to make sure that you understand what the settings do, and don't just go along with all the defaults. (Before you get all in a huff, note that I said probably. OK? Now go check your settings again.)
It's the only badge that I won't get this week, but I feel like I've already ground my will to get the badge into the dust, and I have no way of knowing if I'm almost done or less than halfway. What a painful experience. Slow and repetitive battles, weak graphics, and why would you create a badge around a metric that doesn't seem to exist in the game at all?
If you're having trouble with the space bar or down arrow scrolling the web page, it means that the game frame is not the focus. Click into the game, and it should work as intended. (Click in the dark area, not in the Kong info column on the right.)
Vote for the HTML 5 tag to make it easier for players to find this game.
(Click on the blue ADD TAGS button just below the game frame, then click + next to HTML 5.) Do the same for other games that you like that still work. Thanks!
It would be helpful if this game had a tag that indicates that it's still playable, post-Flash. There's an "HTML 5" tag that it doesn't have, but I don't actually know if every game that still works is necessarily HTML 5, and I don't know if this game is. Do we need a "No Flash" tag? Developer? How can we help people find your game?
Hmm, good question! I think "Html 5", as the term/tag is generally used, should probably cover 99% of the games that still work? (And there are non-Flash games, such as Unity Web Player games, that don't work anymore).
If you're really stuck (especially on levels 21 or 24, let's say), there are always walkthroughs. Just be sure that Google doesn't cut off the g at the end of the game's name, which it will do automatically.
This game wouldn't properly launch SuperNova from Chrome, but it did so correctly in Edge, and I was able to finish the game and get a screen shot of the completion page, which shows the time to complete in the lower right corner. This is after the "I did it!" page.
We survived the storm and I went on my way. Great! Or not? I have no idea if that's the "best" ending. I know this isn't a Flash game, but is the badge awarding properly to those who get the best ending, or is there a piece of that process that uses Flash for some reason? How do you know what the best ending is? It's a reasonably cute game, though a bit long and repetitive relative to the character development and storyline if you have to play it more than once.
It seems that the badge isn't awarding properly, and since there is apparently no way to get a win/loss report or review past games at all, it would be a good idea to take a screen shot of the congratulatory page when you win. Be sure to include the green connection icon in the upper right corner of the Kong frame around the game window. There's a link to request a missing badge at the bottom of the "Achievements" tab to the right of the game. They're usually pretty responsive, and I've never been denied if I've submitted the appropriate screen shot.
Walkthrough: Google is your friend. I found one on jayisgames that was very helpful. I doubt I would have finished the game without it, as there were plenty of steps that I did not find to be logical, and that's my biggest complaint about this type of game. Nonetheless, the vast majority of the things you have to do do have some logic to them, even if that's only apparent in hindsight. (But still, how would our hero have known to do half of these things?) The artwork is stunning, especially the opening and closing movies. Definitely one of the better examples of this type of game.
I didn't realize it at first (and you probably can't get to them at first), but some of the tiles in the skill matrix have double value -- +2 Attack instead of +1, and +10 Health instead of +5. Figure out where they are and try to reach them quickly.
The game was kind of interesting, until they revealed that building churches will make people happier. Blech. Can I return that badge I just earned? No thank you!
I'm struggling with Level 12, and I wasn't sure how many levels there were. (An indicator would be nice.) Since this seems to be the last one, I'll try a few more times. One thing I love: thank you for acknowledging that 54 is "So close! Just one away!" I really appreciated that message.
Thanks for the feedback! That's really unfortunate, there actually used to be even more camera motion in an early version and I got rid of all that, but good to know it can still affect some players. I'll have to try some more variations sometime to help with that.
Having Ctrl for boost makes it impossible to use the AWSD controls. Why? On nearly all browsers, Ctrl-W will instantly close the current tab -- the one that's running the game. (AFAIK, Edge is the only one that doesn't use that shortcut. So all 312 users of Edge are safe. The rest of the planet hates you.) I can't believe that I had to scan back a YEAR to find another comment about this. Space bar, L, Shift... just about anything on the right half of the keyboard OTHER than Ctrl would be great! Now, this game is nearly a decade old, and I'm sure that no one is going to be making any changes, so... **Note to developers: Pay attention to common browser shortcut combinations when deciding on your keyboard controls. Or better yet, just don't ever use Ctrl.
I was really enjoying this game, until I got to level 34. That level requires a high degree of precise control, but the controls (at least on my fairly new laptop) really don't make that possible. I'm sure that the level is possible, and I'm sure that on my computer, it would require far more luck than skill -- and that's not fun to me. And there's no way to progress without completing the level, which serves absolutely no purpose. I don't understand why that's such a common thing. Just let players skip that level and enjoy the others. The only alternative is to get annoyed and quit the game, and you're certainly not going to get 5 stars from frustrated players.
@Tim0thr3x The camera doesn't move automatically; you need to do it. Hold down the space bar, click and hold on the background, and drag it wherever. It's explained in the instructions to the right of the game area, on the "Game" tab -- which is often helpful to check out when playing a new game.
Thanks for your help. But I think it's not working well. I made an updtade to block the scroll on the page. Normally it work now.
