So let me tell you how fun it is to redo the last boss 4 times so you can get the sequence, and timing of the sequence exactly right. It isn't. Having to do the entire last level again, to learn the next button sequence just to have another Game Over from missing the timing on one button by a few milliseconds is just horrible writing.
This one is vastly inferior to the first one. Sure there are more upgrades, and a laser weapon that is overpowered and fun to use. But the whole grid ship editor makes you feel like you're building an armada instead of one ship. And the interface is terrible. If there were a few ship editor hotkeys (like upgrade) it would be a huge improvement. And I think the fact that the game forces items to snap to the grid slows it down immensely. To completely wipe your build and create a new one takes 10 minutes. The first had high replay value because it took maybe one minute to completely reset and have a new interesting lineup ready to go. Sad sequel. 1/5
Freakin epic! Even though I have no idea how to get a lot of the medals since the scoring system changes every mission., I still think this was an awesome game. Though, once I got the High Calibur Cannon, I didn't bother using any of the other shoulder mounts cuz its friggin powerful. Not even the nuke was as fun.
This game is great, and the difficulty level is good where it is, but once you get down a difficult section, you die in the section after it over and over until you learn it HOPING for a checkpoint. More checkpoints, I would rate this 5/5. As is, 4/5
