I don't think the area counter in the top left of the mission screen is working right. Sometimes it shows "current area/max area". other times it shows "current area/area level". I think.
Great job! Minor bug: When you get an enemy in the dark room, you don't actually fight any. You just get a message that you will, then go straight to the next level.
A small request. Can you store our turncount when we win a map? Then display it later on the map selection screen. With that, we can try to win a map with the least amount of turns and later beat that score.
I think I can add that Steaming. That screen is pretty full, but I've got the data you want already saved. I'm out of town for the next few days, I'll aim to have a new patch released end of next week or so. 6/18 v1.35K is now live with this feature. you got some fair mechanics and gameplay here. Now all it needs is a story (told thru random encounters), and end game, maybe a stat screen, and you've got an actual game.
When creating maps, could you add an option to disable certain units? That way, you can make a water map and disable bridges so the player would have to use the existing bridges.
Nicely polished and my first opinion is that it looks like a faithful spiritual remake of MOO! 2 suggestions about the planet menus. First, hide the giant X when it's not usable? There's no reason to put it there if it can't be used. Secondly, the >> symbols in the planet menus don't really do much and they kind of look like buttons that'll do something. Do they need to be there?
The video (and that's all it is) has decent CG production values, but almost no, um, content or value beyond displays of people acting cool. Still don't see any game that remotely conforms to kong's format. Based on the video, i assume the game is boring and repetitive, but looks passably pretty.
good bullet game. a few suggestions: first, instead of spacebar, why not just left-click? Second, can we get a pop-up box when we earn a medal during combat? Third, when the score is counting, can the number accelerate up? After earning 100k+ points, it takes awhile.
Speaking as a potential new player, this game has serious problems. The biggest is that the interface alone makes me want to close the tab. Is this really the best layout? Sorry, my screen isn't 3 feet tall. If I've been here for 10 seconds, do I really need to see things that are locked until level 20? Also, why no tutorial? Third, the twitter/facebook/game pimping is just shameless. and where do i see my loyalty points and favor points? I don't see them anywhere on the interface
Thanks for the feedback! We appreciate hearing specific issues new players have with the UI and game set up, as feedback from fresh eyes is great. While we unfortunately can't promise immediate and wide-ranging UI changes, we will take your suggestions under consideration.
As for your question about favor points, you can see them in brackets on the "Godfather" tab. You can also see loyalty points by clicking on the "Loyalty Items" section under the Godfather tab.
Gladly Steaming! I am pleased to announce that development of GOW2 is complete, as is 90% of the final testing. There is one or two final graphics the artist I hired is producing. I'm hoping to release it within a few weeks to a month! (optimistically)
A faithful representation of the original game! The mechanics are much simpler, but in the age of facebook, that's to be expected. I like how you reused many (but not all) of the original mercs. My only question is: where's Ivan my favorite russky soldier?
Can the journal have a separate tab that records all the known recipes and recipe hints? Otherwise, we'd have to write them down or remember them. And i promise you, that won't happen :)
The book of recipes in the first town, you can pick up and put in your inventory. Press 4 and then E to put it in your inventory. There has also been made a wikia site for this game with all of the recipes: http://island-escape.wikia.com/wiki/Crafting
