I only had time to play briefly. The art, sound, and controls are nice, but grammar problems give a vibe of sloppiness. I know it's an early version, but writing issues will turn players away.
That is an issue with Kongregate not clearing its cache after I upload a new version, hopefully this will be resolved soon - I've never seen it take this long.
EDIT - I got it worked out, should be good to go now.
The music and art is good, but the item placement makes little sense in the context of the world. Shadowgate is a good example to research where the items make sense in their locations.
Thanks! I know what you mean. This game was actually made for Ludum Dare, so unfortunately I didn't have time to create full cutscenes. I just left it to the imagination. ;)
I know this is an old game, but the writing is unbearably sloppy--no spaces after commas or periods, dashes instead of quotation marks, tense shifts everywhere, etc. I must...commit suicide.
Thanks for your support, stillman1!
The game development has been paused for a period due to the recall bug that will happen on frequently access and the lack of stable server in beta.
(This is a multi-players game though)
I am planning to learn another method to remake the game better in the future. And that could take much time.
However, I'll inform you when this game is finished. Thanks for your comment again! :)
This game has great potential. However, why is my character always facing left? I couldn't fire one shot with a bow. The enemies have the exact same speed as my character so ranged attacks are impractical. Is it so hard these days to capitalize sentences and reverse the sprites to face right? The music is great, though.
I love this concept. I think we should have more than two variables in character creation, though, since it's all the control players are given. It would also be nice to see the character emerging, with the AI choosing starting gear appropriate to his class for instance. My cowboy is behaving like a generic fighter, plus he lacks a gun.
I find it's better after playing it again recently. The story, music, and stealth are all good, and it's fun to creep by monsters in the dark. The story elements are sometimes abandoned though, like on levels 12 and 14. I find using the mouse is infinitely better. One mild distraction is how the character's head is made of sharp angles instead of, say, a natural looking oval.
It would be nice to sell off older buildings and have multiple "endings" at the $100k/sec mark explaining the moral repercussions of certain investments. Some tycoons do more worldly damage than others.
