Well it's 4 am, I'm sleepy, and I've been playing for like 7 hours so I decided to make a full retreat at wave 133 (my lvl 45 team was fighting lvl 58 stuff) to go to bed. I think I could have pushed passed 200 easily but it's just too time consuming. I was using 30% protection potions on everything and lowest defense was my warden at 67% dmg reduction but it probably didn't matter based on the damage I was taking anyways. 202752 gold and 26 pocket thingies. Would take a full day of playing to push to limits but that's so exhausting and I don't feel like leaving my PC on overnight ;S

Well 2X warrior and 2X cleric is defensive but it's not the only defensive team you can build and it honestly sounds a little boring. Eventually you will be able to collect enough gear and sparks but for a really long time you are also going to have a hard time gearing with such little diversity. I prefer a defensive formation that has a warrior in center front and a confessor cleric in center back. Then you use 2 support/dps on the right and left of the cleric. With guard giving those 3 in the back +20% dmg reduction and radiance hitting 3 things on your side you can have an effective/defensive composition. I've been using conjuror and warden as my other 2. Back up heals/rez and conjuror is decent dmg (also the 2 golems up front is really good).

To answer Fish Richard the premium content is two things. First it gives you 5 sparks of legend (which take a very long time to get in game). Secondly it creates a whole new list of characters that have all the same abilities but looks slight different (different skin tone and hair). The main thing with the new characters is it allows you to have 2 of each specialty. So you could have two conjurers or two inquisitors. You could have then have something like 4 clerics or 4 mages in a party since you can use two of each subclass. The premium content isn't a big deal but it's a nice way to support developer for such a great game.

Tip for new players. Buy a weapon from the shop immediately. Then get some armor pieces like the chest piece whenever you can. Do NOT switch around between bows, melee weapons, and wand/books. Stick with one and I highly suggest sticking with melee weapons. I wish you weren't so punished for switching weapon types.

So if you die you permanently lose a certain amount of your max hitpoints for the rest of the game?

"Take that look off your face. You're not having my rags!" anyways I hate when the first fight in games is designed to be unwinnable. It took me a minute before I was like "oh yeah. No way in hell is this happening"

After a little while they allow you to sell any equipment you want to at the stores or at the little box to the right of the chests you open, Sein. Personally though I'm still having an issue without hoarding most drops that seemingly have potential even though I won't be using them at the moment.

At lvl 7 Valley of Tezkal is driving me insane. Those 'vegetable' dart shooters with 6 range poison darts that do 3 dmg every round. Then there was the trees immune to slashing/pierching so you are forced to use blunt and magic attacks only and all that armor makes a lot of 0 dmg attacks. It took me over 10 attempts to beat that and now I'm getting destroyed by them with these 25 health coatldile things that fly across the map and melee for 8 dmg ;( I might give up on this one

Question: Are we able to change the race of a party member without having to relevel them? I'm a little hesitant to remove a party member and add a new one if all levels are lost.

Developer response from FlaxativeCH

Not possible, sorry.

Some advice for new players. Artillery tower is amazing damage and plasma tower is pretty good (also hits air when upgraded). I end up spamming a ton of sharpshooters which are tedious to upgrade but I think it's worth it with their damage and range. If you can't spend your money fast enough then put nuke silos around the end of the map and when they ready click them then drops bombs.

Lol the 6th and 7th map were so poorly designed. I beat them both on hard but didn't bother to finish this game. I like how you aren't allowed to lose even one life cause it you get 18-19/20 you'll only get 2 gord start things. I don't even want to see the rest of the maps after those last two. Lightning tower might be OP but it seems like the only way to actually beat it with the way the send is and the silly maps. If it wasn't there I'm not sure it would possible to beat this game. Poor design.

Game looked interesting at first. This kingdom rush clone is nothing but lightning tower spam though with no real thought. I don't care about KR clone games but they at least have to be good and not just involve using one tower to aoe kill everything.

These teams we made are effective cause they can survive and kill things. The damage isn't amazing, but it's much more important to make sure you can survive if you have to. Currently if I had to break down the damage I would say that it's ~40% conjurer + his golems (he's got a lot of quickness and hits hard), ~30% confessor (smite, smite, smite, smite), ~25% warden (depends on if you can use envenomed arrow... almost everything is undead and will avoid the poison. If I need a heal at this point it's usually nature's balm so less dmg.), and warrior ~5% (slow and hits like a noodle but his job is to eat hits, give +20% dmg reduction to melee, and +20% passive dmg reduction to back row. Cleric in back middle to give his passive power/hitpoint regen and to eat the line attacks with warrior from that one boss thing. In the beginning cleric had to pass turns a LOT until he got better power regen.

Similar to my team FC Brazil that is at lvl 47 and has had very few issues along the way. Instead of a captain I use a champion warrior. Why? Because a passive 20% damage reduction to the entire back row is amazing and makes it easier to focus 100% intellect on all 3 of my back row guys without worry. I'll admit the captain has better last 3 moves though (rearrange for gouls would be cool. I just block gouls with golems and hope for the best). Instead of inquisitor I took the confessor. Benedicition, flash heal, and heal all looked really useful. However, at lvl 47 in endless he just spends 90% of his time using smite anyway (only ever used heal all and flash heal a few times). I don't think cleric choice matters much. Warden and conjurer are the same and they are amazing. Golems and disintegrate are soo good. Gear your conjurer people!!!

This is an amazing example for all turn based rpg games out there just as kingdom rush is a good example for tower defense games. The action value system is rather ingenious, the gear looks good, the abilities are well designed (this is really important!!), and collecting gear sets will keep you coming back for days (I'm on endless evil lvl 30 and I'm still grinding away XD). There are a few small gripes here and there but nothing major. I'd like more diversity. Literally over 75% of creep groups are the same undead over and over with some human and demon mixed in. Things like dwarves and orcs would make grinding much less tedious.

It's really annoying how we aren't allowed to control other group members talents or attributes (it's done automatically for us), just their ability bar and gear. Then again if both mages were as strong as my main then everything would be dead in 2 - 3 turns. I BELIEVE it would have been better to not have the extra characters following and just hidden like most other games cause (I could be wrong) but it seems to be causing some input lag for movement. This game has a lot of potential and I feel that it could be better.
