Repair function doesn't bother me too much. When I hit it, I wander off and do something else for 20 minutes - sorted by the time I get back.
But two other comments:
1) If I pay money to build a market in a town, it does not seem fair that I get no return from it. Either I should get a regular income from each market I build, or I get discounts on the things I buy.
2) It's annoying that the "Max" button only appears after buying / selling 3 items. I think that should be permanently displayed.
Keep up the good work - really enjoying this!
Why does the game tell me I have "NO MONEY" to upgrade a particular gun, but I clearly have? For example, it costs $200 to upgrade the assault rifle, I have $568 but I can't upgrade it?
Not quite finished it yet, but there does not seem to be much variety in the strength of the characters. In early rounds I have characters with 2 attack points and 10 health points, and exactly the same in the later rounds. A bit more variety would be good.
Tedious. The requirement to gain knowledge before expanding beyond a fishing port is fair enough, but the rate of knowledge progression is WAY too slow. And why do I require less knowledge to make hats than I do to plant potatoes. Could have been good, but isn't.
Not a bad version of an old game. Some points: moving around the map after you've selected an item to build is impossible, the item gets built where you first click on the map, even if you move around after. It's not clear how the repair function works in the early rounds - I purchased the upgrade but the buildings didn't repair. Other than that, OK, 3/5
Really addictive game, well done. Couple of thoughts: (1) It would be good to know the number of each item that has been bought so I can work out the $ / second for each and so know where I need to target the upgrades. (2) As well as a "buy" function, could there also be a "sell" function (seems like a very capitalist thing to have!). By the time I get up in the quadrillions I don't really care about the $35K my lemonade stands are bringing in, so would like to sell them to part fund other enterprises.
Poor graphics - somewhere between pixel and proper graphics. Poor character control (you can't control the character during their jump, it's all or nothing). Mediocre at best.
Very good little game. Good graphics and gameplay, although it took a few minutes to work out how to get gold. One criticism, once you start attacking you tend to get surrounded by frigates, and get blown to bits. Also, no indication of how you get to other worlds? But all in all, 4 / 5
hi stu, thanks for playing.. yeah ive cut the other worlds out and the tutorial... as this is the free version. I may put the tutorial back In.
the paid version when I get some code to implement it.. will have WW2 tank level where you play panzer.. and Viking level.. and campaign will have missions and modes like survival.
On being surrounded.. yes I need to tweak the gameplay so it starts gentler.. with maybe 2 guards to the cargo ships. ill sort it out. pick up rum to heal your ship.. and the little smuggler ships drop power ups. speed, full heal. super cannon oh and caves can throw the navy off for a bit.
Finding it very laggy, often a pause of 2 - 3 seconds after I click the mouse to any on-screen reaction, which spoils the gameplay. Otherwise a decent enough game with an interesting twist or two.
