I have to agree with IndieFlash, Level 2 is frustrating because the barcode color is either a color not on the screen or one that is on the belt and about .2 seconds from leaving the screen. Also, I've worked retail for close to 3 years straight now, this game is too close to work for me. :(
This is an interesting mix of Tetris and Bejeweled, and the concepts are meshed well. I just think that there's not much farther you can go with this, because as it stands the controls in this game are a bit too complicated for their own good.
The text is barely readable, and the way you play the game isn't very intuitive. I know there are instructions provided, but again, that text... Also, the computer eventually dominates the game if it manages to win just a couple of times.
This game is absolutely beautiful in its simplicity. The concept may not be the most original, but between the music and the simple graphics the game is a relaxing retreat from action games and a wonderfully charming little gem.
The music is mixed a tad too loud, making everything sound shrill and low-quality. If you managed to make the song sound better, you'd have a 5-star game because the concept and the execution are brilliant.
Ya know, I thought the songs other than the title one were good because they were actual, you know, sentences and stuff. But Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!?
Come on, man.
I liked the fact that you could flip through the drawings, but the moving camera totally messed with my mind and didn't really feel like I was drawing anymore. My first few drawings all had knots in them as I circled a dot trying to hit it as the camera was moving.
I really like the idea behind this game because it forces really fast typing, but when the timer includes the 2 seconds it takes to make the word readable, it's not exactly fair. I made it to 6 letters just through sheer effort.
This is a pretty well-put-together game, but it'd really be nice if the difficulty were able to ramp up a bit faster. A lot of typing games seem to underestimate how fast the average internet user can type.
This is a good concept, but now the game needs something a bit more interesting to hook you... powerups, better graphics, something. As it stands it looks more like an underlying engine rather than a completed game. I'd love to see where you'd be able to go with this concept, though, I'm a fan of one-shot wonder games like that.
Out of all of them, this one is my least favorite, because the design concept isn't anything we haven't seen before. This is a less interesting version of Frogger.
The concept is there (Rez, anyone?) but the difficulty is a bit high without some way to get a bit of health back, and unless there's a bug on my end, I'm not a fan of having to hit refresh to start the game over.
This game is incredibly addictive, and the only gripe I have with it is that the arrow was a bit hard for me to figure out, I couldn't gauge distance too well without something like tickmarks to measure whether I was at 1/3rd max power, 1/2, etc. I love this game, though.
This game overall is a fun and challenging robotron-style shooter, but it's not without its problems. First off, I know the menu is supposed to be part of the experience, but it took me a couple of minutes just to find the start button because of how much it blended in. Second, the pacing of the game is kind of off. The game starts out easy... and stays easy... and stays easy... then gets challenging just before the boss... then the boss really hurts, then it just ramps up like crazy from there. I know there's got to be a phase to get the player acquainted with the controls, but the length of that introductory phase felt way too long. Other than that, the controls are tight, the variety in enemies is fun, and the minimalist soundtrack fit the game well. Good job!
While the games (especially in the keyboard section) repeat a lot of the same motions, the sheer variety in the art styles and in the tasks the buttons perform makes up for it. This is totally better than the first one.
