Something I liked about the previous games that I'd like to see here is the ability to equip two weapons. I also wish you could equip more than one article of passive gear. You could equip one of each type of gear item, for example: an ammnition pouch/first aid kit, a pair of shoes, a hand wrap, and a vest.
