Start with 1 or 2 upgraded fire guards, use 2-3 reflectors at the same spot for bosses and some freezers for groups. Other towers are not necessary. Excellent game.
Good game. Took a while until I realised that it is best to just upgrade the towers without any elements or recipes. Only add an element when a boss is too strong. And yellow (3x in one tower) helps against crowds.
So far I beat all levels (insane etc.) with just pure area towers, and some sniper and ghost tower. Would be nice if one had to use also some other towers!
Another hint: random target units like the cannon choose there target after every move of any own unit. So the best tactic for the cannon is: Choose it as first move. If the target does not please you, move another unit and then come back to the cannon after every move, until it is ok. And do not forget that the cannon kills own people, too, as do other shooters.
Hint: It is most often better to draw back in the first move or to hold the position and let the enemy advance, so he is exposed for your own attack in the second move.
Also, it would be good to be able to replay lost battles. And if you have one remaining move of a unit and move another unit before, then you lose this move of the first unit. This is not nice and not intuitive.
Fun until the last level, where game darkening, strom troops and clicking orgies try to bring in a lame action factor. Downgraded it from 4 to 3 stars, therefore.
One of the best games, good athmosphere and many interesting enemies. It is true, however, that it is save to only use the more expensive upgrade branch of each of the four towers. Build at first the most expensive fire tower near to the end, then try to build one water and two air towers together. They will hold up almost completely the big bosses. With more air towers they hold up one enemy completely. Stone towers are no must, but nice to have one or two. Still, it is not too easy.
One of the best games ever. The girl saying "Sooorry!" to her victim is super cute and funny. - The normal battles could have been a little bit more difficult, though.
I could beat every level in hard mode, even the hardest one, number 9, with just poison ivy, sprinkler, and chain lightning. Seems to be the best combination. The walk through did not work for me in hard mode on level 9.
Currently on last level waves 93/100. Strategie: serpentines with "thickness" of 2 each. First and last 2 lines with almost only warriors and phys. crystals. Second line: half archers. Middle line: Fire mages (again and as always with half fire crystals). Base of almost each line: one ninja for poisoning and one ice mage for slowing. One thunder mage at first line (with one thunder crystal). Upgrade one defender after the other to top level, as they are most strongest then and have special effects like more range or poisoning. At high waves I added earth traps for slowing, and because magical immunes are biggest threat. Don't know what other traps are usable for. Any more hints?
