I can't seem to find the flashlight... I'm running around and I found two blue platforms where I can see myself, but I have no idea where the flashlight is! I'm really embarrassed that I can't even start the game haha. Help!
You need to do a wall jump beetween the two walls, I thought was pretty obvious with the arrows, sry about that,
Sorry about the delay too, I've been pretty busy lately ^~^
I really liked the feeling of being some all-powerful witch. I do want to see more villager reactions in the future (do some get scared? do some fight? etc)
I think making it too combat based or idle-based would take away from the fun but haunting atmosphere of the game.
My suggestion would be to maybe add branching options? Maybe upgrades that either let you be subtle and undetected by the villagers or one that is very outward about the power she has (and attracts a lot of angry mobs & battle). Maybe there can be a power vs suspicion trade-off where those who play aggressively get many souls but also get into a lot of combat. And others can quietly siphon souls leaving them none the wiser.
I like the health bar suggestion people give, but I personally want to play sneaky like a "people who wander into the woods never come back out and no-one knows why"-type witch
Love the game though!
I question the lack of user choice in this game.
I wish there were some choices like being able to choose a seat closer to the other students or being able to refuse bullying the newcomer.
I know that the game is trying to convey a message about society, but I feel like the view is overly pessimistic and ignores all of hex's responsibility over their actions. The story constantly portrays them as a victim, even after they decide to bully another in a similar situation. At no point does the hex take ownership of their actions.
I like the theme of "masking who you really are will cause you to lose yourself", but what message were you trying to convey with this? Now what? There was no particular moral or message beyond that sentence.
The visuals were lovely and I think that if the core message was fleshed out a little more, this would've been a fantastic piece. I hope to see more of your work and thank you for listening to my rambling rant!
It's buggy but it's an interesting concept and I would love to see a longer, more polished version of this game! I'd especially love to do more to frame Sarah so she gets caught.
I wish there was a "practice mode" or a "casual mode" where you can keep playing even after you miss. I love this game but playing the same 50% of a song just to get to a part I keep messing up on is painful.
Was fun at first, but I made so little gold/took so long to upgrade troops, that I just kept grinding. And the grinding takes time and was kinda repetitive....
How do I capture boars or wyrms? I place the net on the ground and then when they get caught in them, they only stay for a second and then escapee/attack me. Please help!
It's a cute story. I couldn't figure out the toilet fumes + match solution until I read the comments though. I thought I had to use the matches in the library to toggle the fire alarm there. Oh well. I think it works as a cute prologue to a full game?
It's a charming game, a 5 in that aspect.
But I wish there was no battery limit (just there as a visual style), and I wish that there was an option to speed through dialogue on second/third playthroughs.
The comments warning me about this was what led me to have the perfect first experience though. So also a thanks to the comments section!
I like it. It first I felt lonely that people were avoiding me, but then I was happy I was able to find friends who would come along.
Then I felt sad again seeing my friends leave me one by one, so I actually tried really hard to keep them from being taken. But then I realized that I'm preventing others from being happy by doing so, and thus became the worlds best matchmaker lol. I was glad to see that there was someone for me too in the end. :)
(I'm not gonna comment on the fact that my soulmate kept avoiding me until the very end lol)
This game is so good I recommended it to my other friends and now they're hooked too! I can't wait for the next update, but then again, please take your time if it means quality instead of quantity! This is such a gem of a game and I want more people to know about it!
Thank you! If you're hungry for more E/C *right now*, you can check out the subreddit or Discord server, where fans often gather to speculate. Otherwise, I hope you'll look forward to the new episode in September!
One thing I'd love to see more is something that really makes the Buddy happy! I know we're supposed to hit him, but I like the option of switching between being violent and kind. I think it's because of that emotion meter on the corner. At this point it's really hard to make it fluctuate because we can mostly only upset him lol.
I love the game though! 5 stars!
I try my best to give a response Aisleen would like, but she always informs Chloe that I haven't spoken much, or isn't too different from before... :(
Is there a way to get them to recognize that the AI can be conscious?
Great game! I haven't completed it yet (because I'm not that great at these games but I had a blast! I LOVED the music to the second stage. That was my favorite and I couldn't stop myself from talking in the beat of the song lol
I struggle to 270 and I need 700? That's impossible!
If I practice I might be able to reach 400 or 500 but... I think I'm gonna have to give up on the true ending... :(
I'm a little sad. The way the game went it felt like it was going to be a long story about a girl realizing that the AI might have a consciousness inside it after talking to it a long time. Chloe-H-8758 would eventually be "Chloe" and Aisleen would see it as a "her" with her own mind and opinions.
Maybe the conflict would've been on whether or not to keep the AI running, as Crystal saw it as shutting down a program, and Aisleen saw it as murder, and we had to try and impress or convince them by talking to them.
Overall the story felt short and unfinished and maybe I got my expectations too high. I was really excited about this game...
I got something that looked like a grasshopper and a tiny quid inside a bubble. I don't know where I can see those, because I don't see them in the artifacts, or the appearance section. I think one of them is giving me a 25lvl spider squid, and a 1 lvl ghost squid.
But how do I turn off those options? I can't try some of the challenges because of this.
