I really love the overall atmosphere of the game. It has lots of interesting angles and viewpoints. I wouldn't call it "scary" per se, but it's pretty creepy. More of a mystery, I think. The puzzles were challenging, but that's to be expected. Difficulty of the puzzles themselves aside, I do have to say that there were not a lot of hints as to where I was supposed to be looking for things (in walls for example). It would have been nice to have more of a hint in that direction; perhaps a mention about hidden places? I know churches have them all the time, but still it didn't occur to me right off the bat. There were a few puzzles (i.e. lantern, constellation) that were downright Myst-like! I really could not have completed it without the walkthrough (but that's par for the course for me and puzzle games). All in all, a good time was had. I look forward to the sequel.
I saw her as symbolizing depression or addiction (both go hand in hand, so it could be either or both). It doesn't really matter what the addiction is, she definitely seems to portray it. I was a little nervous to meet a bad ending, so I pushed her away as soon as I could.
I've never gotten so frustrated at a game with such soft, ambient music before. Frustrations aside, the game is really great and I like the over-all concept of leveling up the tanks by absorbing the remains of your opponents (sounds grotesque, works surprisingly well). My only critique is that there isn't much of a way to tell whether the bubble you're entering into is full of benign bubbles or malicious ones (or perhaps my sense of direction is completely messed up and I can't tell whether I'm traveling into more dangerous territory or not). It would be nice to see some sort of signal that the bubbles are getting harder. Maybe a change in the background color or something similar?
I knew playing Pokemon Puzzle League as a little girl would benefit me as a gamer someday...Also, I want to join in on the chorus chanting for a reset button on the level. Other than that bit of UI change, I love the rest of the game, especially the simple graphics and oddly geeky dialogue. I feel like I'm talking to some hybrid of of GLaDOS and HAL- and I love it. :)
It's pretty hard because the targets move so fast, but my main comment in on the text on the end screen- it's almost completely unreadable. Might want to keep that in mine next time.
