Cave # 5 is very easy if you do it right. Max out your range units to level 5 (that means succubus, centaur, witch, mermaid, and dwarf) When the level starts, keep everybody back at your castle until you are maxed in all those units then, just send them all to attack the enemy castle. That should be all it takes, none of them will die...
I agree that chains and 4 or 5 in a rows should give you more. Also, to make it trickier, you should be able to upgrade the towers. Maybe have another type of gem that upgrades.
My one last idea is to have some of the gems be more scarce. Those gems could be used to build powerful towers, which gives the player something to try to work on, instead of just clicking the first thing they see.

Help!! Pulling out my hair. I have a movie clip named healthMeter on the root timeline, and a movie clip in that named bar. What am I doing wrong?!?!?
