Tesla Towers are the most cost effective thing in the game and you start off with them - 600dps at medium range fully upgraded for a grand - nothing else comes close.
You can finish every level in the game perfect with 4-6 towers, way too easy.
Man the tutorial is so buggy and unhelpful - puts an invisible overlay on the lefthand side of the screen sometimes that makes you unable to click anything, the little hand stays there even if you close the window it was triggered by. Also why buildings are 'locked' I have no idea. I tried this game but that killed it, I presume it wants me to buy money so guess I'm done since I'm basically sitting here watching "something" and trying to figure out where the tutorial died.
Aww I got all excited because the first one was such a hidden gem but this looks like it just recycles the graphics only (something I am familiar with with you haha)
Wow this game is rough as hell starting out but once you realize what each tower does etc you realize this is probably the best TD game yet - I end up practically covering the map in towers - dont try and upgrade to start out, if you can drop 10 earth towers that raise base damage for ALL towers - I tend to drop 15-20 of the majors (light, earth, air, hero, fire) before I ever even think about upgrading anything (except maybe air if i'm getting hammered). GREAT GAME.
IF ITS TOO HARD - this game becomes so much easier once you realize how insane a fully upgraded turret is, I (like many other TD junkies I presume) assumed it was linear upgrades but it's exponential, a fully upgraded basic turret does over a thousand damage, a fully upgraded machine gun can easily solo levels 1-6. I didn't have to start actually building mazes until lvl 11+ once I knew that.
started off strong but too much grinding after about 20ish
all you need to pass every level expert is a single super tower at the entrance and careful control (and upgrades) - a single lvl 1-2 super can take the first 3 waves at once for exmaple
poison towers are nuts once you can build one at the entrance just put one there and a fast tower way back in the early game this dominates
I really like this series of games but it's still jarring to me how nice the overview, map and menu screens look and you get into an actual map and it's straight out of mspaint. I hope you are upgrading those graphics for 5 because its the only thing holding this game back now.
I still have no idea what ends a game, one time I got to 15 and one time I got to 12, both times not a single tank went through. Building more than 4 factories is a mistake contrary to my previous post, can just sell them after you start getting enough kills to make money.
Pretty easy game really - build 2 factories, put in lights as the enemies come in in a row right above, once the row is filled and/or no gaps with enemies coming build more factories until you have a line at the bottom. Then at lvl2/3 build a second row of lights above the first as enemies start to bunch up. Finally build a couple rows of mediums above those, and sell the 2nd row of lights and fill in with heavies. At this point you have a full row of factories and enemy deaths are starting to make you money, I filled in 3-4 more rows of mediums and starting replacing with heavies although I'm not sure the DPS is better.
