Ok, I apparently didn't pause when I walked away. Cooked dinner, changed the baby's diaper, and poured myself a Scotch... came back and the game was still running and I was winning. Not a mark of a good game...
Ok, I amend my earlier statement. This is better designed technically than the first one, but I find it even less fun than the original... which I hated.
A nicer victory box would be a good touch, it's a bit jarring right now.
A few important things which should be pointed out which I didn't see in the tutorial:
Maximum of 6 units in play
Units heal 1 each turn
It would also be nice to be able to see maximums for powers, though this may be a deliberate design choice.
Draws much too heavily from Magic, which I feel hurts the flavour some. There's some good playability here, though. Beef up the AI opponents & slightly increase play speed & this is something I could play more of :)
