guilhermees,
thanks a lot for your awesome rating and fav'ing!
zigma,
You're a big winner on this game. I guess I have to make it harder so it will get more of challenge for you. :) Thanks for your awesome rating and fav'ing.
ZoniXShadow and Dossage,
thanks for playing the game and commenting on it.
I'm working on an update with better graphics (more details, better fonts and animations) and more variation (cars, levels). I will probably (as I'm busy with more serious stuff... sigh...) upload that in 3 weeks or so.
Thanks for the comments.
cloud212823,
You're right about the dots, they should not spawn outside the track (or on the border). It makes them less visible and to hard to hit at high speeds. Shooting cars, that would indeed be awesome! And damage to cars of course. The score that you get for collecting a dot is now a real simple function of it's size. Mmmm. You right the smaller dots should make more points then the bigger ones.
froob,
you will get your pause button. :)
ee80,
netto laps are laps driven against the traffic subtracted by laps driven in the traffic direction. Notice also that you are directly punished for driving with the direction of the traffic because points are subtracted per distance travelled, while points are added per distance when driving against the traffic.
Schw_Pestbeule,
right now, a new car arrives at every 250 points interval. But indeed I should make them appear on the track obstructing the player. Good point.
Julibuz and Drouth,
thanks for the rating!
chaos548,
let me know how you would do it. I have some ideas myself, but I'm interested to hear yours. Could you send me a whisper/shout?
Thanks elementz,
Positive feedback like this really makes it a joy to improve my games.
AlfFly,
I will work on more variety. Probably by adding more track - and enemy shapes.
gsisID,
yeah I will continue developing and improving.
HarissonSchooler,
True. I will work on more variety in general.
mnbtfd,
I'm not sorry that I should do away with the track. I could make it bigger (easier to stay on track) but the driving against the traffic direction (imposed by the track) is fundamental to the game idea.
xbladex,
thanks for your rating!
shdwbld,
This miracle is sponsored by the Kongregate User API. :)
Balneger,
thanks Balneger, I will increase the minimum speed so that cars will not appear to be frozen.
Thank you all for the comments and ratings. Nukegow, your totally right about the tracks. It's on my todo list for the next version. I would even like to implement tracks that morph into different shapes while the driving continues(, but this might prove to hard to implement.) To be continued....
Thank you dierpoot. I'm glad you liked the challenge of remembering the abstract images. I will indeed work on the points mentioned here and I will drop you all a line when I've uploaded an improved version!
oops I think you want to know that in the introscreen the upper http://www.mindistortion.tv/ correctly links to "MINDistortion":http://www.mindistortion.tv/ but the logo links to http://www.mindistortion.net/ , a fake ad filled website.
Again, 2 great suggestions. The game certainly needs better AI and I was thinking about the same sort of implementation for that. Indeed the cards need to disappear slower and more explicit. Yes! Good ammunition for improving the game!
Hi Zangdar,
I agree, that would be a huge improvement. Thanks! I'm going to let my creative girlfriend (she hates my design skills) think about what that button should look like.
Looking at what I produced so far, I feel like I've made a fairly simple, decent game engine( ,with some shortcomings of course) but screwed it up in the usability department. Sadly, that is of course the part of the game that gets noticed. So much playing around to do.... It's a though job but someone got to do it. :)
Hi *Kiatk*,
The images are semi randomly generated so I don't know what images you saw, but I noticed myself that some are too little and there might not be enough variation. Good point.
Hi *Dyberg*,
I know the AI (well Artificial Un-Intelligence actually) is not so good. I'm reporting statistics to Kongregate, such as how many turns you needed to finish the game, so I hope to get them noticed and get me some badge challenges to make the game more of a challenge. I also have some new gameplay ideas, which I think are unique, that I will but in a new version.
Hi *elementz*,
I choose to have you turn back the computers cards because that gives you the opportunity to stare at them for as long as you like. But I have to agree with you that it gets a bit annoying. Good point.
Hi leer83,
thanks for your comment. This is not my first game. "JoyRider":http://www.kongregate.com/games/theolagendijk/joyrider-1-0 is my first game, this my second game. But both are a work in progress.
Whoohaa, I can't keep up with all the comments flying in, but keep doing it, it's truly appreciated. The game is really a work in progress and all feedback is used as input in the process of further development. I'm will use "the wisdom of the crowd" in my advantage so to speak. Really, thanks a lot for all the comments, suggestions and ratings! Much appreciated.
Hi d4rthr1ch, thanks for commenting and rating JoyRider. Good to see my game is so well received, it motivates me to develop it in to the engaging game that I'm envisioning in my mind.
daveyjurgens, thanks for your comment, you're absolutely right. Levels will certainly be a part of the next release. (Different track shapes en different widenesses of the track.)
I keep comimng back to this game. It's somewhat to difficult to keep my interest for long stretches of time, but it's a welcome exercise to sharpen my puzzling skills once in a while.
