I used the Freeze spell and a Tuxedo Mage with the Fire elemental staff to get past Mission 4... and even then just barely. My "hero" did nothing against the boxer! She's freakin' useless.
There needs to be more variation in the training grounds and you definitely need to make more variation in the equipment and whatnot. Beat it fairly easily with a Mage/Rogue combo. There wasn't any huge challenge, aside from the Princess & "Fat Troll" fight.
To add to Sheltem's comment... where you cut on the line determines how much of the line goes to the new cell, i.e. the closer to the host cell you cut, the more units go to the new cell.
Could have done a lot more with it. Would have been great if at the end you found the "Black Knight" who'd been sent there before you to colonize the planet, but ended up deciding to defend it. A twist like that would have been nice, but still a decent game.
Units not given a job seem to have a hard time deciding what to do. I've watched a number of my bots just sitting there as they get hammered by the opponent. This is especially true on level 10 when they're all damage and range and are basically sitting ducks to the more nimble opponent. There needs to be a way to back off evolutions once they've happened. 3/5.
Meh. I hate random layout puzzle games. Each level should have a given solution. Having to basically randomly click somewhere and hope that all of them go off != a good game. The explosions and stuff were nice, but it's essentially just a random color generator. 1/5.
You can grind level 14 once you get a few fully upgraded units. After your heroes spawn immediately hit "Assault." You should be able to beat the level without even looking at it after that. It should work with most any mix of units, but fully upgraded Pixies are probably key.
