Still one of the best games on Kongregate, even with the slightly squishy hit-boxes. This is the game that started my journey to level 65 on this site.
Amazing game! If anybody is interested in also learning Kanji you can check out the work at https://lrnj.com/, another pretty basic game, but is much more fun than just memorizing a book or page of characters and it introduces them much like this one (a few at a time in like-groupings).
I have gotten stuck 2 or 3 times due to freezing enemies (they don't attack and I cannot hit them with arrows or spells). The next wave of levels don't start when this happens.
I think I must be the only person who doesn't enjoy fancy pants adventure games. It wants to be Mario, but has extremely loose controls which bugs the crap out of me. However, I can't deny that the music is amazing and the level design is well above average - 4/5.
There's something going on here around edges, I swear I've jumped while on solid ground, but fall instead. Tested a few dozen times and it seems like if any of your front foot is off the edge the jump button does not work. Most games train you to look at the center of a character, this one you must look at the front.
Getting the hard badge on this game is just defeating lag. I keep getting skipped frames during the 2nd phase of the final boss and bombs explode in less than a second after being visual. Ridiculous bs to have a brilliant ruined due to bugs. Along with the insane memory allocation (2+GB) in less than 10 minutes of running the game I cannot give more than a 1/5.
Exactly like your other games, but I still like these time management games quite a bit. Valentines day/seasonal stuff is not exactly a groundbreaking new feature, but it's neat that you took the time to put festive items in. I just wish there was something you could buy to help you get perfect icing, as after playing for 14 days I only saw 3 perfects =\
Nice game, really glad this got badged or I never would have gotten the chance to play it. For sure the difficulty of the second part is directly related to how you did on the first, but I don't think any route is impossible, due to the fact that you can always get to both exits for a level in a short enough time that you should be able to blank out any clones that happen to be in hard/impossible to reach spots of your initial path.
There should be a way to refresh the types of characters you get at the tavern. I only got 1 rogue at level 6 and stuck with her due to her providing 3AP a round even though my whole tavern had level 18+ avatars, fighters, and mages to choose from.
Very good game, Great music for the areas and a nice story. Next time you should add in the "choose your own adventure" idea into the game, with multiple path possibilities that create different endings depending on your choices. This would give a good amount of replay value that's missing here. Please make more games!
Thanks toltas!
