This game has potential, but for starters I feel like the zombies are too durable. I just got to the mausoleum, and there were literally screens where I pulled out my phone to surf the web while mashing J. I even stopped balancing my stat points and started going for mostly strength because they just take so long to kill and there are so many of them.
I like this game a lot, but it's a bit frustrating because I don't fully understand combat, even after the tutorial. Units will retreat when I expect them to fight, or die when I expect them to retreat, and I can't figure out the pattern.
Thank you! The army will retreat when it lost 50% of its initial cards. So, to make a 5-cards army retreat you need to kill 3 of them.
Sometimes an army will fight to the end, when the "StoneWall" powerup is activated.
I accidentally hit the X button while setting up my team, and it took me back to the main menu. When I loaded, it had all the default settings, so now I have to go back and re-do my player and team. Kinda annoying.
I do really wish they had let me decide how I wanted to attack. It got to the point where I was avoiding leveling up Mana Affinity because I WANTED to run out of Mana and fight physically.
I finally got the Easy capital on the ropes in the Hard campaign...and it froze. Second time it's frozen on me at the beginning of an AI turn, but now it's costing me a win I've spent a good half hour trying to get.
Excellent game. My one gripe is the battle system- I think there's enough strategy that a purely turn-based system would've worked better. It's difficult to identify all the cards and their values, especially the ones played by the enemy, and the system is not all that intuitive. The end result is that combat is often a confused and panicked mess, when I don't think it really needs to be. Other than that, I love this game.
-Feel like the super zombies could stand to take a bit of a nerf, especially in conjunction with the hit rate thing. Maybe keep the health but make them easier to hit?
-A BIT more guidance might be nice. Granted, I'm both dumb and playing at 2 in the morning, but it took me almost a full game to figure out what some of the symbols meant.
-Ending felt like a bit of a letdown to me, but that's primarily because I lost the first game and thus took a long time to beat it. <
Awesome stuff. I especially like that it's procedurally generated- that's what'll keep me coming back to this game. Criticisms I have...
-Ladders are just awkward- not being able to put one over another is annoying, and I can't tell you how many times I went into stealth trying to go down.
-Hit rates seem a bit low to me. Nothing more frustrating than seeing "missed!" pop up three times as a zombie horde slips through your bullets and eats you.
-Either I got really unlucky with respawns, or there's a glitch that spawns you at less than full health- a couple of times, I respawned only to die again almost instantaneously.
I love these but I'd like to see some sort of feature to prevent the cat getting stuck- perhaps something that automatically ends the run after a minute or two of not collecting sushi.
Or maybe, just MAYBE, these are the metric symbols for these numbers ;)
