I have been coming back to this to play for years now. once every 6 months I'll binge for a few days. I can't remember my highest score but today's highest score is 255 seconds
Great game! This is how I got 2000 points for $1000 in arcade mode: The Plank ($25), Pingu Balloon ($25), Sugar rocket ($250), then the most fuel I could afford, the most ramp length, and then the last $50 on ramp height. You can figure out the rest (it's still not easy), but that is the equipment.
Also, I have all bonus shop items maxxed.
Nice game, but after I did so much, died, and saw I had to do it all again, I quit. No thanks. And yes, I walked in front of the TV to save position, but I still had to redo lots.
The way I interpret it, the hero is at the grave of his loved one, and he may even be thinking about the legend of Orpheus itself, thinking how he would battle through the underworld if he could, and during the game he is lost in his fantasy. When it comes to bringing the rescue back to reality, he imagines coming back to the grave yard with her and sees himself there. It was just a vain, forlorn fancy which overtook his mind, and he is woken up from it.
I got the hard badge with 80 weeks left... on the 4th attempt!!
@ppl complaining about missing: you miss when your combat attack and dexterity are low. Conversely, you can make the enemy miss when your combat defence and tactics are high. I've had enemies with 430 hit points and who do 44 damage to me when they hit, but they miss shot after shot and I beat them, 20 hit points at a time.
@everyone - general tip is get your "rest" going early in the game, this saves you many weeks recovering. You do this by upgrading the village garden to level 3, and getting your constitution up around 25-26. All other skills you can learn/earn at school/work, but consitution allows you to get enough rest to acquire other attributes without wasting too many weeks.
I'd pay a 25 kred tip for this, maybe 50, but 150 kred is actually quite a lot of money, about $US12. You can buy full PC games like STALKER off Steam for less than this.
Ferret, that is totally wrong dude. Back when Doom came out, most computers had Adlib or Soundblaster soundcards, and these can play audio and music at the same time no problems. The music in doom wasn't on CD, it was ingame music similar to midi. Even the 4meg version of Doom you could download had music.
